Dynamites claim Ohio Tourney championship

Avenging an earlier round loss, the Dynamites 16U Travel Team shutout the KC Kryptonite 2-0 this afternoon to capture the Gold Bracket championship at the Youth World Series in Lebanon, Ohio.
Evan Poeller hurled a 1 hitter with 8 strikeouts for the Dynamites which had dropped a narrow 4-3 decision to the Kryptonite on Friday.
The Dynamite scored once in the third inning on an error and once in the fourth as Tyler Kroening singled and came home on a double by Vinny Gray.
The victory was the third of the day for the Dynamites which went 7-1-1 over the four day tournament to claim the title.
The Dynamites opened today’s tripleheader with a 6-1 win over the SLBolts as Aiden Romesser pitched a 3 hitter with 11 strikeouts.
A four run fourth inning on a double by Ryleigh Culver, an RBI sacrifice by Gavin Heideman, a two-run single by Ehren Pettapiece and an error keyed the win.
The Dynamites then shutout the Cincinnati Defenders 2-0 to gain a berth in the title contest as Heideman hurled a no hitter with 8 strikeouts.
The Dynamites two runs came in the fourth inning on a steal of home by Romesser and an RBI single by Nick Bucholtz. Singles by Romesser and Culver set up the opportunity.
Culver and Bucholtz both had a pair of hits.
Orange Tigers capture softball championships

Contributed Photo – Lyndonville’s Orange Tigers team recently captured both the regular season and playoff championships in the Major Division of the Lake Ontario Youth Baseball/Softball League. The Orange Tigers went 9-0-1 in the regular season and were seeded #1 for the playoffs where they defeated the #4 seeded Medina 3-Blue 15-4 and the #3 Somerset Raiders in the Championship game 25-9. In Front are Elysse Dillenbeck, Abigail Alexander, Natalie Rath, Lila Belson and Julia Aiken. In back are Coach Dillenbeck, Grace Kenyon, Isabella Bresett, Braelynn Dillenbeck, Morgan Woodworth, Lilly Moore, Skylar Tower and Coach Townsend.
Dynamites split at Ohio Tournament
The Dynamites 16U Travel baseball team earned a split today in competition at the Youth World Series in Lebanon, Ohio.
The KC Kryptonite scored a run on an error in the sixth inning to nip the Dynamites 4-3 in the first game.
The Dynamites had tied the game at 3-3 in the fifth inning on a two-out, two-run single by Ryleigh Culver. Hits by Brennan Bowes and Evan Poeller set up the threat.
Rebounding, the Dynamites then downed the Indiana Blacksnakes 6-1 to stay alive in the tourney.
Brody Fry went the distance on the mound scattering 4 hits and striking out 8.
The Dynamites took the lead for good by scoring three runs in the third inning on RBI hits by Ehren Pettapiece and Poeller and an error.
A three run fourth inning on RBI singles by Poeller, Aiden Romesser and Culver then locked up the win.
The Dynamites, which are now 4-1-1, will continue tournament competition on Saturday morning.
Seven score as Kendall/Orleans FC romps
Seven players contributed goals as Kendall/Orleans FC downed Holley 11-0 in a Rochester District Youth Soccer League girls U17 Division game Thursday evening.
Sophia Picardo scored 4 goals and Addison Kludt 2 to lead the way as Addison Manchester, Samantha Webster, Shayla Higgins, Ciara Duggan and Stella Kwiatek each had one.
Kendall/Orleans FC is now 6-1-1.
Albion 18U shuts out Oakfield
The Albion Purple Eagles 18U baseball team improved to 6-1 with an 8-0 victory over host Oakfield Thursday evening.
Omer Fugate picked up the win on the mound allowing only 2 hits and striking out 9 over 6 innings.
At the plate an RBI single by Nate Gibson plated what proved to be the game inning run in the first inning.
The Purple Eagles then broke the game open by erupting for 5 runs in the third inning on a two-run single by Elliott Trapiss, RBI singles by Fugate and Mason Snook and a sacrifice fly by Drew Boyce. The big frame also included a double by Kaiden Froman.
Albion capped off the win with a pair of runs in the sixth inning on a double by Gavin Boyce and a single by Josh Schoeberlein.
Over 300 attend football camp at Albion

Dynamites win two at Youth World Series
Improving to 3-0-1 in the tournament, the Dynamites 16U Travel Team scored a pair of run rule victories this afternoon at the Youth World Series at Lebanon, Ohio.
The Dynamites opened with an 11-1 win over the Cincinnati Defenders as a two-run double by Vinny Gray and RBI singes by Ryleigh Culver and Gavin Heideman highlighted a big five run first inning. Hits by Aiden Romesser and Brody Fry ignited the uprising.
The Dynamites also scored five times in the third inning on a two-run double by Ehren Pettapiece, RBI singles by Culver and Fry and a sacrifice bunt by Romesser.
Evan Poeller picked up the win on the mound allowing 2 hits and striking out 6 over four innings.
The the second contest the Dynamites blanked Post 165 8-0 as an RBI double by Culver in the first inning plated what proved to be the game winner.
The Dynamites quickly tacked on four runs in the second on a single by Fry and a three run error.
Jax Brinley allowed 2 hits and struck out 3 over five innings to get the win on the mound.
The Dynamites will continue tourney action on Friday.
Barre celebrates 12U playoff championship

Dynamites tie and win to open Ohio Tourney
The Dynamites 16U Travel team had a win and tie today to open competition at the Youth World Series being held at Lebanon, Ohio.
In the opener, the Dynamites managed only two hits in a 0-0 with the Indiana Blacksnakes.
Aiden Romesser scattered 3 hits and struck out 10 in 6 innings of work on the mound.
The Dynamites bounced back to post a 10-2 victory over the Thunder moving on top to stay with 3 runs in the first inning highlighted by an RBI double by Tyler Kroening.
Keeping the momentum, the Dynamites tacked on 4 runs in the second inning as Ehren Pettapiece had a double and Ryleigh Culver a single.
Pettapiece also had a two-run single and Evan Poeller an RBI single in the fifth inning.
Brody Fry earned the win on the mound as he allowed 4 hits and struck out 7 in 4 innings.
The Dynamites will play two more games in the tournament on Thursday.
Installation of turf begins at Barker

Photo by Cheryl Wertman – Installation of the turf has started on Barker High’s new multi use artificial turf sports facility. When completed the large lighted facility will have a combination football/soccer and field hockey field along with baseball and softball diamonds. The Barker/Roy-Hart varsity football team is scheduled to open the season at home on September 6 against Medina.
