Albion 18U shuts out Oakfield
The Albion Purple Eagles 18U baseball team improved to 6-1 with an 8-0 victory over host Oakfield Thursday evening.
Omer Fugate picked up the win on the mound allowing only 2 hits and striking out 9 over 6 innings.
At the plate an RBI single by Nate Gibson plated what proved to be the game inning run in the first inning.
The Purple Eagles then broke the game open by erupting for 5 runs in the third inning on a two-run single by Elliott Trapiss, RBI singles by Fugate and Mason Snook and a sacrifice fly by Drew Boyce. The big frame also included a double by Kaiden Froman.
Albion capped off the win with a pair of runs in the sixth inning on a double by Gavin Boyce and a single by Josh Schoeberlein.
