John B. Wing
John B. Wing, 85, of Holley and Kendall, passed away July 31, 2019. He was born Nov. 22, 1933 in Toledo, Ohio, a son of the late Clarence and Utilia Wing, and he moved to Rochester as a young child.
John served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to his wife, Ann, in June 1958. In 1970, he moved to Holley, and he remained there until his kids were grown and on their own. In the summer of 1987, he moved to Kendall and, in 2015, moved to Brockport. John retired from Eastman Kodak Company in 1990, and he also served as a part time police officer in Holley for several years. For many years, John was very active in the Kendall Lions Club and enjoyed playing “cards with the boys.” He was a former board member of the Lakeside Hospital Foundation. John was always busy but, most of all, he loved spending time with his family, kids and grandkids.
He was predeceased by his brother, David Wing.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Ann G. (Cushing) Wing; children, Vikki (Mark) Donnelly of Brockport and Christopher (Denise) Wing of Holley; grandchildren, Tara (Adam Morrell) Townsend of Washington DC, Elissa (Michael) Maxson of Rochester, Nicole (Eric) Gallert of Holley, Mark (Heather) Wing of Holley, and Amanda Wing of Rochester; seven great-grandchildren, Christopher, Lily, Allison, Hayden, Joseph, Bennett and Geraldine; sister, Hillary (Clint) Wing-Richards of Virginia; brother, Joseph Wing of Maryland; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends at Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 16650 Route 31, Holley, on Mon., Aug. 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. A private graveside service with military honors will be held at Hillside Cemetery.

Alan J. Goda
Alan J. Goda, 53, of Lyndonville and Stanley, N.Y., passed away quietly at home on Tue., July 30, 2019.
A memorial service will be held Tue., Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. at Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham, N.Y.

Alan was born Feb. 10, 1966 in Kenmore, N.Y., the son of Ronald Goda and Donna Hale Goda. He graduated from Lyndonville Central School in 1985. Alan received an Associate of Occupational Studies Degree, Electronic Technician, from Alfred State College in 1987.
Alan married Dawn Austin on Feb. 17, 1996 in Honeoye Falls, N.Y. He started his business, Austin Instrumentation of Ontario County, in 1998.
Alan enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he was a member of Oak Orchard River Bass Anglers. He enjoyed fixing old trucks and tractors with his son. They worked together to restore his 1952 TO30 Massey-Ferguson tractor. Alan was actively involved in Boy Scout Gorham Troop 63.
Alan is survived by his wife of 23 years, Dawn M. Goda; one son, Alan John Goda Jr.; his mother, Donna (William) Fox; his father, Ronald (Georgia Redding) Goda; one sister, Teresa (Brian) Payne; father- and mother-in-law, Claude (Arlene) Austin; sister-in-law, Pamela (Chris) Murray; brother-in-law, Jeffrey Austin; three nieces and five nephews, Cora Payne, Xander Payne, Bradley Murray, John Murray, Joseph Murray, Natasha Austin, Katrina Austin and Dominic Austin; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Lola L. Burt
Lola L. Burt, 55, of Waterport, entered into rest on Tue., July 30, 2019 at her home.
Born Dec. 10, 1963 in Lockport, Lola was a daughter to Helen L. (Harman) and the late Roger J. Gilbert. She attended Medina High School, and she married Mark A. Burt on July 15, 1983. Lola worked at several restaurants in the area over the years. She was a bartender at Butts-Clark Post #204 American Legion in Medina and also worked as a cook at the Four C’s Marina at Point Breeze. She enjoyed bowling, was a Coca-Cola enthusiast, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and her boys, who she loved “to the moon and back, baby.”
She is survived by her mother, Helen Gilbert; her five sons, John (Carla Petrillo) Burt, Timothy (Amy) Burt, Joshua (Kirstie Allen) Burt, Tanner Burt-Hodgins and Dillon Burt-Hodgins; five grandchildren, Lana Burt, Arletta Rosado, Kairi, Makayli and Tyson Burt; three sisters, Becky Lynn Platter, Melinda (Durwin) Young and Diana (David) Hubbard; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Mark Burt, in 1986; and her father, Roger Gilbert, in 1988.
Calling hours will be held on Sat., Aug. 3 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina.

Dee Hockenberry
Dee Hockenberry, of Rochester and Albion, passed away on July 27, 2019 at the age of 89.
Dee is predeceased by her parents, Lena Cunliffe and John Barnes; her sister, Patricia (Triss) Barnes; and her brother, J. David Barnes.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Tom; son, Eric; daughter, Candy (Jerry) Fasano; special niece, Kathi Hartgrove, and nephew, Jerry Hartgrove Jr.; brother-in-law, Charles (Cathy) Hockenberry of Arizona; brother-in-law, Jim (Joanne) Hockenberry of Pennsylvania; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and her two beloved cats, Chita and Kibibi.
Dee was the author of 17 books featuring vintage teddy bears and animals. She was a contributing writer to Teddy Bear & Friends magazine. She and Tom loved to travel and visited 64 countries.

Scott M. Wilson
Scott M. Wilson, 46, of Albion, passed away on July 29, 2019 at Strong Memorial Hospital, following a long illness. He was born March 31, 1973 in Salamanca, N.Y., a son of Donald and the late Suzanne (Dips) Wilson, and he lived in this area all of his life.
Scott graduated in 1992 from Albion High School, where he played football. He received his New York State electrician certification and worked at Norm Phillips Builders, building many houses. Scott was an avid sports fan who loved football and hockey. His favorite teams were Notre Dame and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed listening to hard rock music – Judas Priest, AC/DC and Guns N’ Roses were some of his favorite artists. He idolized George Carlin, and he will be remembered as a smart aleck with a wicked sense of humor.
In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by his great-grandmother, Nana Marker; paternal grandparents, Don and Elizabeth Wilson; and maternal grandmother, Mary Dips.
He is survived by his father, Donald (Julie) Wilson of Albion; brothers and sisters, Chad (Lisa) Wilson, Kristen Wilson, Steven Wilson and Kimberley Wilson, all of Albion; nephews and niece, Tyler, Damian, Drake, Aniela and Gavin; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Roger K. Seefeldt
Roger K. Seefeldt, 66, of Medina, passed away on Fri., Dec. 21, 2018 at Buffalo General Hospital.
Born on Sept. 11, 1952 in Medina, he was the son of the late Charles and Lorraine (Brietsman) Seefeldt Sr.
Roger graduated from Medina High School in 1970. He enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving as a cook overseas in Germany. Upon returning home, he married the former Kathy Brown, and together they raised two daughters. Roger was a baker at Corky’s Bakery, and then he owned and operated the bakery known as The Donut Shack on Main Street in Medina. After that, Roger worked for Joe Russo Construction. In his spare time, Roger enjoyed woodworking, especially making birdhouses.
Roger is survived by his wife of 39 years, Kathy Seefeldt; his daughters, Sherie Seefeldt and Jennifer (William) Ribbeck, both of Medina; two grandsons, Roger and William Ribbeck; four siblings, Emory (Becky) Seefeldt of Medina, Kay (Steven) Suzanne of Florida, Bruce (Sue) Seefeldt of Lyndonville, and Becky (Casey) Palmer of Stafford; five brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kenneth (Tina) Brown of California, Althea (Robert) Lindemuth of Lockport, Darvin (Joelle) Brown of Medina, Vanessa (Robert) Draper of New Jersey, and Jonathan (Melynda) Brown of Medina; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins; and his faithful companions, Luna and Bandit.
Besides his parents, Roger is predeceased by his brother, Charles S. Seefeldt Jr., killed in action on May 8, 1967.
A graveside service will be held on Sun., Aug. 4 at 2 p.m. at Bates Road Cemetery, Medina, with the Rev. Dean Shingleton officiating. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery.

Carol Jean Trotz
Carol Jean Trotz, 74, of Albion, passed away peacefully at Unity Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, on July 27, 2019. Carol was born April 14, 1945 to the late Frank Albertson and Violet Bennett.
Carol loved going to bingo every week, playing card games, going to yard sales, and being around her family.
In addition to her parents, Carol was predeceased by her husband, Duane Trotz; son, Robert (Betty) Daniels; and sister, June Davis.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Sandi (Michael) Green; siblings, Ronald (Jill) Albertson, Frank Albertson, Patty (Bruce) Bennett, Lynda (Bob) Grabowski and Anne Winters; grandchildren, Thomas Edgtion, John (Gabrielle) Scurry, Jasmine (Samantha) Scurry, Christopher Porter, Joshua Daniels, Christina (Cory) McMurray, Amanda (Gary) Ettinger and Tim McMurray; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Loretta A. Durrant
Loretta A. (Youngs) Durrant, of Albion and Batavia, passed away peacefully on Sun., July 28, 2019 at the age of 84.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Brady, Brenda (Daniel) Varnell, and Deanna (Mike) Campanelli; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters and one brother.
She is predeceased by her husband, Herbert; and several brothers and sisters. She has moved on to her eternal home.

Carol M. Gentilcore
Carol M. Gentilcore, 64, of Holley, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2019 at the Martin Linsin Hospice Residence. She was born Oct. 16, 1954 in Rochester to Michael and the late Margaret (Farrugia) Gentilcore.
Carol loved watching Dale Earnhardt Jr., the Syracuse Orange, the movie “Top Gun,” and any movie with Patrick Swayze. She loved to crochet, knit, collect Santa and Christmas decorations and, most of all, spend time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her mother, she was predeceased by her brother, Michael.
Carol is survived by her daughters, Michele (Ricky) Kirk and Jamie-Lynn (Dennis Bishop) Selden; father, Michael; boyfriend, Frank; grandchildren, Angela, Mia and Cali; siblings, Thomas (Victoria) Gentilcore, Sharon Gentilcore, and Anthony (Vincent) Gentilcore; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

John M. Halliday
John M. Halliday, 78, of Holley, died July 28, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 15, 1941 in Dundee, Scotland, U.K., the son of the late John M. and Jessie (Yacamini) Halliday, and he lived in this area for 55 years.
John worked for 37 years as a plumber at Farash Corporation in Rochester. He loved to be on his computer, and he enjoyed golfing, shooting darts and, most importantly, spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Janet; daughters, June (Robert) Berger of Hamlin and Janette (Chris) Andrews of Kent; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren with one on the way; sister-in-law, Doreen Mackey of Canada; nieces; a nephew; and several family members in Scotland.

John T. Grehlinger
John T. “Jake” Grehlinger, 74, passed away on Wed., July 24, 2019 at the Batavia VA Medical Center.
Born on Sept. 25, 1944 in North Tonawanda, he was the son of the late Myron and Dorothy (Riter) Grehlinger.
John grew up in Lyndonville and enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam from 1963 to 1966. Upon returning home, he worked for several companies, including Brown’s Fruit Farm, Abex, S.A. Cook Furniture, Peters Hardware and, lastly, at the parts counter with Crosby-Whipple. John enjoyed attending Lyndonville Presbyterian Church and loved to go sailboating. He also was a collector of automobiles and had a love for all types of music.
He is survived by a brother-in law, Roland Howell of Medina; a nephew, Peter Howell of Fairport, N.Y.; and many good friends, including Eric and Michelle Harling of Lyndonville.
John is predeceased by a brother, Peter; two sisters, Jean Howell and Marilyn Blackwood; and a niece, Claudia Allevato.
There are no calling hours. A graveside committal will be held on Wed., July 31 at 11 a.m. at Lynhaven Cemetery, with the Rev. Martha Mitchell officiating. Full military honors will be accorded.

Patricia S. Tabor
Patricia S. Tabor, 74, of Medina, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wed., July 24, 2019 at Unity Hospital in Rochester.
Pat was born in Albion, June 8, 1945, a daughter of the late Gertrude E. (Fassett) Tabor and Vincent A. Tabor. A graduate of Kendall High School, she was a lifelong resident of Orleans County. She was employed by General Electric and worked at Fisher-Price for many years. Pat loved to read and was a big fan of the Giants.
She is survived by her sisters, Christine Tabor, Sally Tabor, Marjorie (Maynard) Manley, Janice (Theodore) Barrett, and Mitzi Boryzewski; brothers, Wesley (late Gloria) Tabor, Leslie (Barbara) Tabor, Daniel (Shelia) Tabor, David (Carol) Tabor and Michael (Faye) Tabor; her aunt, Lillian Hinckley; her good friend, Mary George; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
She was predeceased by her father, Vincent, in 1963; mother, Gertrude, in 1993; and two brothers, Nicholas J. Tabor and Charles A. Tabor Sr.

Mario Mana
Mario “Mike” Mana, 71, of Albion, died July 24, 2019 surrounded by his family at the Buffalo VA Medical Center. He was born Oct. 29, 1947 in Auburn, N.Y., a son of the late Salvatore and Doris (Pealo) Mana, and he lived in this area most of his life.
Mike served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1969. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was a member of the Veteran Bikers Motorcycle Club. He was an avid hunter who liked shopping at the Goodwill store. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will remember him as a jokester.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Louise; children, Mario Mana Jr. of California, Anthony (Kelly) Mana of Lyndonville, Angelo Mana, Christopher Mana and his wife of Florida, Katrina Mana of Oakfield, and Cassandra (Mike) Murphy of Florida; stepchildren, Laurie Froman and Sherrie Carter, both of Albion; several grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Taddeo of Florida and Dorothy (Ernie) Bullivant of Colorado; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his grandson, Chadd Froman; sister, Janet Young; and brother, Roy VanPatten.

Charles Marcinowski
Charles “Charlie” Marcinowski, 73, of Aurora, Colo., passed away peacefully July 22, 2019 surrounded by his children. Charlie was born May 11, 1946 in Albion, son of the late Andrew “Jerry Penny” and Isabelle (Jablonski) Marcinowski. He lived in Medina the majority of his life before moving to Colorado in 2014 to be closer to his children.
He was a 1965 graduate of Medina High School. Charlie served his country in the U.S. Army until his discharge in 1971. He was a humble veteran of the Vietnam War. Following in his father’s footsteps, he was proudly employed by Niagara Mohawk Power as an electrical lineman for over 30 years before retiring in 2006. Charlie was a wonderful and caring soul – an amazing father, grandfather and friend. He was a jack of all trades who was there to offer help when you needed him. For that, he will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his brothers, Bob Marcinowski and Ron (Ann) Marcinowski; brother-in-law, Richard Howes; son, Brian Marcinowski; daughter, Kelly (Brandon) Sewall; three grandchildren, Luke, Drew and Maya; three step-grandchildren, Drew, Luke and Lily; several nieces and nephews.
Besides both his parents, Charlie was predeceased by his sister, Shirley Howes.
The family would like to honor Charlie with a Celebration of Life to be held at the Butts-Clark Post 204 American Legion, 305 N. Main St., Medina, on Sat., Aug. 3 beginning at 3 p.m. Family and friends are welcome to join. Burial will take place at the family’s discretion.

Donald R. DePalma
Donald R. “Fuzzy” DePalma passed away suddenly on Tue., July 23, 2019 at Strong Memorial Hospital. He was born Aug. 7, 1948, a son of the late Albert L. and Anna (Marchione) DePalma, and he was a lifelong resident of the Holley/Albion area, graduating from Holley High School in 1966.
Fuzzy owned and operated a farm on Fancher Road. He shared his love for farming with his many friends in the field of agriculture. Fuzzy served in the U.S. Army as a medic from 1969 to 1971 and was a member of the Holley VFW Post #202, as well as the Holley American Legion Jewell Buckman Post #529.
Fuzzy is survived by his daughters, Meaghan DePalma-Whelan of North Augusta, S.C., and Lynette DePalma of St. Clairsville, Ohio; a brother, Carl DePalma of Buffalo; one niece; one nephew; and several cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Albert O. DePalma.
There will be no calling hours. His graveside service with military honors will be held on Sat., July 27 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Albion. Roger Gregson
Roger “Buck” Gregson, 75, of Gasport, entered into rest on July 23, 2019. He was born April 20, 1944 in North Tonawanda to the late Raymond and Mildred (Lawlor) Gregson.
Roger was predeceased by his sisters, Lorraine and Marie.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Debbie; sons, Brian (Jill), Keith (Marci), and Adam (Melissa); grandchildren, Jacob, Cole, Zach, Carter, Mariana, and an expected grandson; sister, Betty (Tom) Wilke; brother, Robert (Rosemary); as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Donna Priscilla Mele

Priscilla was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In her later years, she worked at Meals on Wheels for more than five years.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Hank, in 2002; and her sisters, Bayonne Nesbitt and Nannette Ward.
She is survived by her son, Howard (Laurie) Mele of Fancher; grandchildren, Brandi (Ryan), Lisa and Dominic; great-grandchildren, Payton and Lincoln; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many loving friends and neighbors.
There will be no calling hours. Her graveside service will be held Wed., July 24 at 11 a.m. at Hillside Cemetery in Holley.

Ronald B. Kennedy

Ron was a United States Air Force veteran and a member of the Fancher, Hulberton and Murray Fire Department. He was also a member of the Orleans County Boots and Saddle Club. He enjoyed fishing, Western movies, horses and NASCAR. Ron had previously raised Siberian Husky dogs, but his true love was being an over-the-road trucker.
Mr. Kennedy was predeceased by a son, Bradley Dean Kennedy.
He is survived by his children, Ed (Lisa) Kennedy of Kent, Colleen Davidson of Hamlin, Ron (Alyssa) Kennedy of Holley, and Jerry (Missy) Kennedy of Kent; brothers, Jon (Sue) Kennedy and Jerry Histman, both of Gouverneur; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and the mother of his children, Bonnie Gekoski of Kendall.
The family will receive friends on Thu., July 25 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 16650 State Rt. 31, Holley, where his funeral service will be held Fri., July 26 at 11 a.m.
Private interment will take place at the convenience of the family.

Linda Jean Mullett

She was predeceased by her husband, Cary J. Mullett, on Oct. 15, 1985; and two brothers, William and Robertson Huston.
Linda is survived by her son, Richard (Stacy) Mullett; grandson, Phoenix; many nieces and nephews in New York, where she resided at the time of her death; several nieces and nephews in Ohio; and many great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great-nieces.

James H. Goodenough
James H. Goodenough, 45, of Gasport and Asheboro, N.C., died suddenly July 17, 2019 as a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was born June 1, 1974 in Newfane to Herbert and Joanne (White) Goodenough and had lived in this area all his life prior to moving to North Carolina two years ago. Jim was a member of Hartland United Methodist Church and the Order of the DeMolay F&AM. He was very mechanically inclined and enjoyed helping his friends work on their various projects. Jim was also a lover of the outdoors.
He is survived by his two children, Gwenna Goodenough and Aaron Goodenough; his parents, Herb and Joanne Goodenough of Gasport; his brother, Gary (Jennifer Walters) Goodenough; aunts and uncles, Robert (Sandy) Kelley and Beth (late Roger) White; and several cousins.
The family will receive friends on Tue., July 23 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Sherrie Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main St., Gasport, where his funeral service will be held Wed., July 24 at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Hartland Cemetery.
