Angela Antoinette English

A Time to be Born: Angela Antoinette English was born on Aug. 15, 1983 in Highland Hospital, Rochester, NY to Rev. Eddie English and Mrs. Rose (Washington) English.
A Time to Love: Angela was an amazing mom to two children. Omar Christopher Peterson was born on Nov. 18, 2003. He was joined by his sister Olivia Rose Onesty Peterson on Dec. 26, 2008.
A Time to Worship: Angela started her walk with Christ at an early age at Royal Church of God in Christ pastored by her late maternal grandfather, Pastor William Washington. She was elevated to a Missionary at the Lord’s House under the leadership of her father and Pastor, Superintendent Eddie English. Angela served as Praise Leader, Pastor’s Aide, Sound System Technician, Lyrical Dancer, and Toys for Tots Coordinator.
A Time of Employment: Angela’s work history consisted of employment at RIT Conference Center, Orleans County Nursing Home, Clover Hill Nursing Home, Verizon, Claims Recovery Financial Services (CRFS), Rochester Chamber of Commerce, and The Grande Nursing Home-Batavia.
A Time to Laugh: The joy and fulfillment of Angela’s life was her family and friends. She had a wonderful sense of humor and could bring a smile to your face. She left us with many memories that when we think of them they will turn our mourning into joy.
A Time of Gratitude: A special “thank you” of Love to M.D. Eugene Patrick Toy, and the entire medical team for the love and special care given to Angela during her season of transformation. Another special thank you to Pastors Align for Community Transformation (PACT).
A Time to Die: On Mon., Oct. 19, 2020 at 9:50 a.m., the trumpet sounded for Angela Antoinette English, with a voice saying you have fought a good fight, you have kept the faith, and you have finished your course. Come HOME and take your rest.
Angela was predeceased by paternal grandparents, Tommy D. English and Martha Mae English; maternal grandfather, Pastor William Washington.
A Time to be Remembered: Angela is survived by her two children, Omar and Olivia Peterson; her parents, Pastor Eddie and Rose English; two brothers, Eddie (Tiffany) English II, and Christopher English, and maternal grandmother Rosa B. Washington. Angela also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Wanda M. Maxon

She grew up in Oakfield and graduated from Oakfield School with high honors. After graduation, she married and moved to West Barre where she raised seven children, and fostered 38 more children, and adopted one. She was a foster parent for many years and children were her life. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and listening to the birds sing. Wanda kept a daily diary and had a soft spot for cats.
Wanda is survived by her children, Dennis (Connie) Maxon, Denise (David) Jaczynski, Steven (Yvonne) Maxon, Scott (Mona) Maxon, Russell (Cheryl) Maxon, Jan (Derrick) Standish, Todd Maxon and Carl (Tammy) Maxon; grandchildren, Bradley Maxon, Tyler Maxon, Amber Jaczynski, Amanda Torbit, Mary Nicholson, Alex Maxon, Alan Maxon, Henry Maxon, Tiffany Pahuta, Ryder Maxon and West Maxon. Wanda is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Donna Bartholf; and brother, Darwin Hale.

Lula S. Fraser

Lula graduated from Barker High School in 1944 and continued her education at Brockport State Teachers College, where she received her teaching degree. She married the late Kermit Fraser on November 18, 1950, and together they raised three children in Lyndonville. Lula was a teacher at various local schools and retired from Gasport Elementary School.
She was an active member of the Lyndonville United Methodist Church and was very active with the church after retiring. Lula was also a member of the Eastern Star and Delta Kappa Gamma Society and served on the Lyndonville School Board. Throughout her whole career, she devoted her time and effort volunteering for literacy. She also enjoyed her volunteer work at Hospice of Orleans. Lula was an avid reader and loved the time she spent with family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Thomas Fraser of Lyndonville, David (Kim) Fraser of North Syracuse and Meredith (David) Pratt of Wells, VT; grandchildren, Tristan, Cade, Cameron and Zachary; great-grandaughters, Lydia and Harper; and many nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Lynhaven Cemetery.

Cheyenne E. Farewell

She was and will always be the daughter of Rochelle (Nellist) Horner and Jeffrey Farewell, Jr. In twenty short years, she touched the lives of countless family members, friends, teachers and coaches. She was known for her smile, her laugh and her oftentimes brutal honesty. Cheyenne always spoke her truth and encouraged others to do the same.
Cheyenne was a graduate of Medina High School, class of 2018 and was currently a student at SUNY Brockport, where she was studying to become a therapist and writer. She loved looking up at the night sky and seeing the moon and stars. Cheyenne’s favorite things in life were music, dance, writing and above all else, her family and friends. She would do anything in her power to help anyone who knew her, whether it was a ride to a party, or a shoulder to cry on. Cheyenne was a resilient soul who never gave up on hope, even at the very end.
Beside her parents, Cheyenne is survived by her sister, Maisie Farewell; her cousin, Lexus Burtwell; maternal grandmother, Gail Nellist; paternal grandparents, Patti and Jeff Farewell, Sr.; step-father, Dan Horner; several extended family members and countless friends. Cheyenne was greeted at Heaven’s gate by her grandfather, Gary Nellist.

Leslie ‘Butch’ Thomas

He was a graduate of Lyndonville High School and a former employee of P.D. Ricci Inc. Butch served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. He loved to work on cars, hunt and received the greatest joy spending time with his grandchildren.
Butch is survived by his daughters, Terry (Rob) Eaton, Patti (Craig Fiegel) Hayes, Cindy (Mark Follman) Perry and Sandy (Joe Jurinich) Mitchell; grandchildren, Wayne Turner, Valerie (Fred) Kohls, Jamie (Jason) Klotz, Ryan Mitchell, Ben Hayes and Grace Hayes; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth (Les) Fisher and Pat (Jim) Fuller; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by a sister and brother.

Brian R. Cramer

Brian worked for several years at St. Gobain-Adfors in Albion as a Machine Operator and loved to ride his motorcycle.
He is survived by his fiancée LaKeisha Gibson and her children; his siblings, Davy (Nu) Cramer, Lisa (Peter) McDonald and Kenny (Sarah MacDonald) Cramer as well as several nieces and nephews.

Nathaniel Thomas Vick

He was a graduate of Kendall High School. Nate was employed by Homeland Security, TSA as a Storage Engineer.
Nate was predeceased by his father, Tom.
He is survived by his mother, Christy Vick; sisters, Christine Vick and Lara (Jaime) Rodriguez; niece, Natalia; nephews, Joshua and David; canine companion, Kato; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Rita M. Stewart

Born Sep. 4, 1917 in Medina, she was the daughter of the late David H. and Rose (Cavagnaro) Howe. She married Roy F. Stewart on Oct. 24, 1936 in Shelby Center. Rita was a longtime parishioner of Holy Trinity Parish, St. Mary’s Church in Medina. Hardworking from a young age, Rita worked for the Snider Packing Co., Birds Eye Foods, Thomas J. Lipton Co. and finally for Fisher-Price Toys, where she retired from in 1983. She enjoyed sewing, needlework, quilting, bowling, long car rides and most of all spending time with her loving family.
Predeceased by husband, Roy in 2000; daughter, Kathryn M. Isham in 2019; four grandchildren: Peter Isham, Jackie Isham, Joseph Isham and Alex Sydney; and two brothers: Harold Howe and Joseph Howe.
Survivors include her three daughters: JoAnn R. Sydney of Medina, Frances M. (Lawrence) Isham of Depew and Marie U. (Stephen) Horton of Greece; nine grandchildren: Christine Freeman, Sanford Isham, Jennifer Bickley, Amy Kennedy, David Isham, Daniel Sydney, Rebecca Miller, Jessica Paine and Andrew Horton; eighteen great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family extends special appreciation to friends, Jeannie and Carl Wagner, for their help and comforting care during Rita’s final years.

Thelma M. Quaranta

Thelma M. Quaranta, 97, died Oct. 11, 2020 in the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home following a long illness. She was born Nov. 9, 1922 in Holley to Charles and Hilda (Green) Gaines and been a resident of Niagara Falls, Clarendon/Holley, Batavia and Florida throughout her lifetime.
Thelma was a Holley High School graduate, and was a former member of Holy Family Parish in Niagara Falls. She worked during the war at Bell Aircraft as well as at Sears and Roebuck Company. Thelma loved the sunshine which would explain her special affinity for living in/visiting Florida.
Mrs. Quaranta was predeceased by her husband, Michael Nicholas Quaranta; her parents: Charles and Hilda Gaines; and her brothers: Donald and Irving Gaines. She is survived by her son, Ronald (Roxane Vanelli) Quaranta of Batavia; 3 grandchildren: Christopher John Quaranta, Elizabeth (James) Shannon, Timothy Charles Quaranta; her great-grandchildren: James Lee (Madison) Shannon, Patrick Shannon, Ryan Shannon; 2 great-great-grandchildren: Oliver and Violet; a sister-in-law, Constance Gaines; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Bernard Kujawa

He was born on May 26, 1941 to the late Frank and Mary (Wasierski) Kujawa of Medina and lived in the area all his life. He attended Medina High School and graduated in 1960. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served four years and was honorably discharged. Then he went to work at Harrisons Radiator Company in 1964 and retired in 1997. Bernard enjoyed traveling, playing cards with friends, playing golf, watching sports, NASCAR and hanging out with his family. He was a faithful Jeff Gordon fan. Bernard was a member and regular attendee of the Sacred Heart Church until they closed and then he became a member of St. Mary’s Church, both of Medina. When his mobility became an issue you could always find him watching church sermons on TV from the kitchen table. He was known for his sense of humor, his wit, compassion and caring personality. He would do anything he could to help anyone who needed it.
He is survived by his brothers: Francis and Robert (Sue); his children: Bernie,Todd (Cherie), Brad; his grandchildren: Emily (Aric), Valeri, Shelby, Nicholas, Ethan, Andruw, Summer, Cali and Kaitlynn; great-grandchildren: Baileigh, Aric, Adalynne, Micah, Aureliah, Ryker, Graysen and Gannon; his friend, Diane; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Bonnie Barry, and his brothers Raymond and James.

Henrietta Shay

She grew in Delco, NC on the family farm and later moved to NY. She was employed as a Locksmith with Eastman Kodak and that is where she met and married William Shay. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Holley. Henrietta had a love of the outdoors; she especially enjoyed working in her gardens and spending time at her “golden ponds” where she hosted many parties.
Henrietta is survived by her loving husband of over 30 years, William Shay; a sister, Connie Faraone of Medina, NY, a brother, Larry Colemen of Livonia, NY; a son, Johnny (Kimberly) Bordeaux of Kent, NY; two step-sons, Bill (Sandy) Shay and Mark (Phyllis) Shay, all of Holley, NY; a son-in-law, Larry Burton of Canaseraga, NY. Also survived are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her two furry companions, Peanut and Deliah. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by a brother, Gerald Wayne Coleman; a daughter-in-law, Suzie Burton; and a nephew, Christopher Coleman.
The family of Henrietta would like to specially thank her longtime friend, Ann Cilento, Hospice of Orleans and all the other caregivers that helped with her final journey. It was Henrietta’s wish to donate her body to science to help others in research and education.

Stephen Esposito

Stephen retired from Harrison Radiator after 30 years. Stephen and Judy enjoyed retirement, splitting their time between their homes on Lake Ontario and Fort Myers, Florida, and they just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
He loved spending time with his grandchildren to whom he was “Poppy” to Joey, Jimi, and Tommy and Grandpa to Kara and Bryson. Also, Stephen enjoyed the Buffalo Bills, riding his Fat Boy Harley Davison, outdoor sports and classic cars.
He was the beloved husband of Judy (Downs) Esposito; beloved father of Trisha (Brian) Bjumark, Joseph (Kelly) Esposito and Christina (Eric Stewart) Esposito; cherished grandfather of Kara and Bryson Bjurmark, Joey, Jimi and Tommy Esposito. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rolland William Kast

He was a very loving, steadfast, and guiding presence throughout our lives, and a genuine and knowledgeable friend to everyone he met.
Rolland was born Nov. 23, 1925 on the Kast farm in the town of Gaines to parents John T. and Ruth Chapman Kast. He is a graduate of Albion HS and Alfred State College and served in the Army during WW II in the Battle of the Bulge.
“Rollie” was proprietor of Kast Atlantic Service Station (ARCO) on the corner of East Ave. and Main in Albion for 24 years. He was an Albion Rotary Club member for more than 42 years, and was a past president and Paul Harris Fellow. He served as board member of the Albion Federal Savings & Loan for 20 years, and board member and past president of the Virgil Bogue Home Fund for dependent children. He was also a member of Renovation Lodge #97 for 65 years.
After many trips south as “snowbirds”, he and his wife, Anita (“Skeet”), retired from the north and became permanent Florida residents in Nokomis, Fl. They enjoyed tennis, travel, warm weather, the beach, friends, and visits from grandchildren.
Throughout his life, Rolland maintained close family ties, contributed to the community, and formed lifelong friendships. He was a social person who enjoyed a good conversation with others. The loss of companionship, realization of age-related limitations, and Covid-19 quarantine restrictions specifically had a direct effect on him. He did not suffer from the disease, just the effects of preventing it. Such are the times we live in.
Rolland is predeceased by his wife Anita of 66 years.
He is survived by his oldest brother Stanley, 102, of Albion and youngest brother Laverne, 93, of Lafayette, Indiana; daughters Jane Gill of Woodstock, Ga., Sandra Black of Saratoga, Ca. and son Dale Kast of Charlotte, NC; foreign exchange student “daughter” Miiko Kaga Tsuzuki of Tokyo, Japan; 7 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

Durwood J. Rohring

He is survived by his wife, Audrey; children: Douglas (Wanda) Rohring, Craig (Diane) Rohring, Dennis (Kristin) Rohring; sister, Norma Kroening; grandchildren: Rebecca (Kevin) Dillenbeck and Danielle Rohring; great-grandchild, Brandon Dillenbeck; and several nieces and nephews. Orren J. Roberts

Born Oct. 22, 1930 in Medina, Orren was a son of the late H. Justin and A. Loraine (Morse) Roberts. He graduated from Medina High School in the class of 1949 and went on to earn an associate’s degree from Cornell University. He married the love of his life, the former Joan M. Forder in 1953. A lifelong farmer, Orren grew up on his family farm. Alongside his brother, Lee, he owned and operated Roberts Bros. Farm for many years. In 1975, Orren started Roberts Farm Market in Medina. He was a lifelong active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Medina. A proud mason, Orren was past Grand Master of the Medina Lodge #336 F&AM. He served as the Town of Shelby supervisor, was a member of the Board of Supervisors, the Orleans County Farm Bureau and the Cornell Cooperative Extension.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Joan F. Roberts; four children: Susan (Roland) Phillips, Sharon (late Marty) Litchfield, Linda (Steve) Fuller and Gary (Margaret) Roberts; foster son, Martin Lattin; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sister in-law, Virginia Roberts; brother in-law, John Bundschuh; and numerous nieces and nephews. Beside his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Lee A. Roberts in 2015 and sister, Anna Bundschuh in 2019.
His memorial service will be held on Sat., Oct. 17 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 522 Main St., Medina. The Rev. Dr. William Wilkinson will officiate. Masks and social distancing will be mandatory. Private interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, West Shelby. Audrey Catherine (Fields) Lamb

The oldest of five children, she grew up in Millville where her parents owned and operated the Fields’ Millville Grocery. Audrey attended Medina High School and later studied cosmetology. She operated her own beauty shop inside the Lamb family home on Jackson Street in Middleport.
Audrey worked as an administrative assistant at Townsend Insurance in Middleport, N.Y., at the credit union and later at FMC. A devout Catholic, she was a member of St. Stephen’s Parish in Middleport and Basilica Shrine of St. Mary’s in Wilmington, N.C.
She loved to sing and performed in a number of plays through community theatre including South Pacific, Music Man, Auntie Mame, Bells are Ringing, Oklahoma!, Carousel!, My Fair Lady, The Sound of Music and The Haunting of Hill House. She was also a member of Sweet Adelines and a Cub Scout Den mother. After moving to N.C., she joined The Harmony Belles, volunteered at New Hanover Regional Medical Center and enjoyed playing Mahjong with her friends and neighbors.
Audrey was preceded in death by her brother Carl Fields. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Donald Sr.; sons: Donald Jr. (Lisa), David (Ginger), Dean (Sharon) and Douglas (Deana); grandchildren: Lindsay (Christopher) Faircloth, Leslie Lamb (Justin Weeks), Kimberly (Tanner) Kelly, Amanda Lamb, Ryan (Kellsie) Lamb, Dillon (Anna Kathryn) Lamb and Michaela (Garrett) Brooks along with six great-grandchildren: Knox, Alexander, Lucy, Audrey Kathryn, Rowan, Remy and a baby girl expected in November. She is also survived by her siblings: Carol (Alfred) Beato, Betty (Robert) Jackson and Paul (Elaine) Fields along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was sister-in-law to Dorothy (Ken) Bishop and preceded in death by: William (Lena) Lamb, Robert (Kilt) Lamb, Junior (Joyce) Lamb, Clarence (Lib) Lamb, Franklin (Edna) Lamb and Elizabeth Foss.
A private family service was held at Andrew’s Mortuary in Wilmington on Oct. 6, 2020. Family and friends are invited to attend a burial service at Ingold Cemetery in Ingold, N.C. at 2 p.m. on Oct. 17, 2020. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory are requested to the charity of your choice.

Cecelia G. Amsdill

Cecelia started working when she was 16 and on Jan. 28, 1950, she married the late Gordon H. Amsdill and made her home on the Amsdill Farm, raising five children. She was a communicant at the Our Lady of the Lake R.C. Church, serving for many years as Eucharistic Minister. She was a devoted housewife and mother, making sure her family was always provided for.
She is survived her four children: Cathy (Tim) Beiersdorf, Chris (Sue) Amsdill, all of Lyndonville, NY, Ann (Kenny) Nice of Knowlesville, NY, Joan Prahler of Albion, NY. Also survived are numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and a special granddaughter, Jaime Amsdill. Besides her parents and husband, she is predeceased by a son, Gordon and seven siblings.
As per Cecelia’s wishes, there are no calling hours and a private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
