ALBION/SPENCERPORT – Lance Anderson passed away on April 1, 2021. He was a beloved husband/best friend, son, brother, dad, uncle, grandpa, teacher, mentor, singer/actor, and life-long friend to many.

He was pre-deceased by his father Arthur Anderson. Surviving are spouse John Venturelli; children Jennifer (Tim), Danielle, Nicole (Andy), Aaron (Becky); niece Jordan; grandchildren Donker, Johnny, Abby, Shawn, McKenzie, Jack, Gavin, Brinley, Chloe, June; great-grandchildren Valentino, Shawn, Giovanni, Jayda; parent Kathleen Moore, brother Daryl, and sister-in-law Faith.

Lance was a pillar in so many lives. If you were his friend for a moment, you were his friend for life. The profound depth of his heart and the selflessness of his soul was felt by many. Above all, Lance’s love for his family and his husband, John, surpassed everything else. When you think of Lance, we hope you hear his boisterous, unfiltered laugh and feel his engulfing hugs with that tight squeeze at the end.

Some dearest to Lance describe him as a larger than life man with childlike enthusiasm, an authentic soul with a killer laugh and an impish grin that promised fun, someone who would only say the truth even when you didn’t want to hear it, and a man with a huge personality and wonderful voice. An educator, Lance devoted his own life to fill the lives of others with music, song, dance, and theater. His voice was an “amazing trumpet” and his talent undisputed. The king of inclusivity, Lance had a special way of making all feel needed and welcomed. Lance is Love. He will be tremendously missed.

ALBION – Lynne “Bama” Philipps (formerly Lynne Harris) passed away on April 2, 2021. She was born in Batavia, NY, the oldest daughter of Norman and Rosemary Philipps.

Lynne lived, worked and contributed to the Albion community and then moved to Cape Coral, FL. A graduate of Albion High, she continued her education over the years at Monroe Community College, earning her AAS in Dental Hygiene, and SUNY Brockport, earning her BSEd in Health Education, and her MA in Public Administration.

Her career spanned many areas, including the Onondaga Health Department, the Orleans Correctional Facility, Planned Parenthood, and Orleans Mental Health. Lynne was also a lifetime member of Girls Scouts of America, even serving as the Executive Director of the Thousand Islands Girl Scout Council for a brief time.

Lynne served on many boards, committees and community service groups during her career as well, including the Music Boosters for the high school. She was a member of Rotary, where she served as the Secretary and President-elect, and the League of Women’s Voters. Her “legacy project,” as she called it, was her dedicated work on the planning and development board for the building of the Hoag Library. She enjoyed working with the community as a dental hygienist in her later years before moving with her family to Florida.

During her time in Cape Coral, Lynne was a proud member of the Island Coast Gators, then Mariner Triton families, working as an Educational Paraprofessional with high school students with special needs. She always brought a smile to their faces, and loving patience to their day.  Her favorite thing to do with her students was share her love of cooking where you would often find her in the kitchen showing students prep skills and creating meals and desserts.

Lynne’s biggest joy, however, was her family, especially her daughter Jen, and two amazing grandchildren. They were the light of her life, as she proved daily. She enjoyed spending her free time watching her grandchildren perform in their theatre productions, reading, floating in the pool, watching cooking shows, and researching her family’s exciting history with her cousin, Pam.

Lynne is survived by her daughter Jen (Shawn) Baker, her grandchildren Ramonna and Dash, her brother Norm (Betsy) Philipps, her sister Jodi (Anne Fargnoli) Philipps, her closest cousin and friend Pam Gaeta, and many other loving aunts, cousins and friends.

Friends and family may visit the private home in Cape Coral, FL on Monday April 5, 2021, from 3 to 7 p.m. to share stories and memories. A memorial service will be held in Albion at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Lynne’s memory to the Hoag Library at 134 S. Main St., Albion, NY, 14411.

ALBION – It is with great sadness that the family of Molly Glassner Gardner announce her passing on April 2, 2021.

Molly was born in Lockport, New York and was raised in a loving household of six sisters and one brother in Albion, New York. Molly retired from National Grid after a long and successful career.

Molly was a wonderfully devoted mother and grandmother, and treasured her family, embracing every moment with them. She spent as much time as she could with her daughters and grandchildren. Molly loved attending their sporting events and extra-curricular activities, volunteering in their classrooms and creating special memories and traditions.

She also shared a love for art. Molly spent her spare time painting, sewing, making jewelry and dabbling in just about any artistic adventure she could find. She was a gifted artist and had an obvious knack for color and style.

Molly will be lovingly remembered and missed by her two daughters Julie (Scott) Bader and Jamie (Brad) Pritchard, and her grandchildren, Dylan, Hailey and Carson Bader and Bryce, Leah, and Drew Pritchard.

Her siblings Barbara (James) Berg, sister-in-law Debby Glassner, Cindy Piedimonte, Suzy (James) Fraser, Judy (Michael) Langley, Laurie (Elroy) Moffett, and Kathy (Dale) Brooks will forever cherish the memories they created together. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and special friends.

Molly was predeceased by her parents Jacob and Dorothy Glassner and her brother Daniel Glassner.

The family has chosen to remember Molly with a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Parish W. Park St. Albion, NY 14411 on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 10 a.m. There will be no prior calling hours. The family invites friends and loved ones to come and celebrate a life well lived.  Interment will follow at Mount Albion Cemetery directly after Mass.

ALBION – Joan C. Laemmerhirt, 88, died April 2, 2021 in the Woodside Manor Nursing Home in Rochester following a long illness. She was born July 7, 1932 in Medina, a daughter of the late Thomas and Jennie (Iorio) Sanfilippo.

Joan sang in the choir for over 65 years at Holy Family Parish and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She was a former employee of GE in Brockport. Joan enjoyed bowling as well as golfing.

She was predeceased by her husbands: Frederick Miller and Donald Laemmerhirt.

She is survived by her sons: Fred (Betty Sue) Miller and Gary (Phyllis Vandenbosch) Miller, both of Albion, as well as 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

There will be no prior calling hours.  Private service and interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.

Rosemary (Fuller) Pray, loving wife, sister and aunt, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2021 at home surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born May 28, 1930 a daughter to Wilbert and Edna (Harch) Fuller. On March 15, 1955 she married the love of her life, Edward Eugene Morley Pray. They made their home on Harrison Road in Shelby, NY.

Rosemary served the community through her involvement in the Shelby Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. She served as President and many other officer positions. She worked many weddings, served coffee and sandwiches at fire calls, worked social events and spent many hours scrubbing the kitchen to ensure it was up to code. Rosemary was the only woman from Orleans County to serve as President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York (LAFSNY) from 1984-1986. She was a leader of the Shelby Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Junior Auxiliary and taught many young ladies first aid, service, etiquette and introduced them to experiences outside of their small community. Rosemary worked as a hairdresser, cake baker and as a school bus driver for Medina Central School District. She was a member of the Happy Wanderer’s Camping Club and enjoyed camping with family and friends. She was also an avid bowler, competing in many competitions over the years, loved playing softball, enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, canning fruits and vegetables. She was known as the energizer bunny and could run circles around people half her age.

Rosemary is predeceased by her parents, Wilbert and Edna (Harch) Fuller and siblings: Glenn (Vera) Fuller, Norman (Lou) Fuller and Louretta Sheelar Stillwell Anderson.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Edward Pray; siblings: Charles (late Shirley) Fuller, Gordon (Cheri) Fuller, James (Pat) Fuller, Johnny (Susan) Fuller, Alroy (Gail) Fuller, Cecelia (late Charles) Wilson and Thomas (Jeanne) Fuller. Rosemary was a loving aunt to hundreds of nieces and nephews, as well as, Aunt Rose to many in the community.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sun., April 18 from 1-3 p.m. at the Shelby Vol. Fire Hall, 4695 S. Gravel Rd., Medina, NY 14103. It will be open house style and themed “Tea with Rose.” In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shelby Vol. Fire Co., P.O. Box 1, Medina, NY 14103.

Susan Duvall “Frenchie” Crafts (1947-2021)

Susan D. called “Frenchie” at Medina High had that smile that classmates found attractive but she intellectually, rose above the flirtations and eventually attended college at age 33 to excel, achieving her “teacher’s expectations,” by completing a Phd. in Sociology at age 44.

Then her zeal as teacher was apparent as her professorial nature was utilized immediately as a “teaching assistant” for three professor’s while also “working as a waitress” when attending ten years as a UB student.

Her first professional year was at RIT. Quickly moving on to longer commitments as” Assistant Professor  at Brockport College (six years) and finally an Associate Professor at NCCC and nearly completing her thirteenth in 2012.

Her RA gradually, over years, increased her fatigue. This cursed Rheumatoid Arthritis caused her diminishment over her two decades as a teacher and the last decade of her retirement was even more uncomfortable for her.

However her pets, “especially gave her” that snuggling affection and for the fifty years we were together. Her pets gave her immense comfort and love. I will say no more, at this time, of her final six months in five different hospitals and two rehab centers.

In lieu of flowers, Sue would wish help for our furry friends. Her spirit lives in the barks, chirps and purrs of these wonderful creatures.  These pets continue to give me comfort and your “pledge of friendship” can be as healing as having a “good will” pet beside you now. Sue’s legacy is strong in so many ways.

Laura E. Kyle, 63, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Wed., March 31, 2021 following a long battle with cancer.

Born May 19, 1957 in Cuba, NY, she was a daughter of Leon E. and Nancy J. (Howard) Putt.

Predeceased by her husband, Wayne M. Kyle on June 2, 2019.

Survivors include her four children: Wayne C. (fiancé, Cindy Gargula) Kyle, James (Sara) Kyle, Joseph (Lori) Kyle and Kimberly Kyle; and six grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Tue., April 6 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. A private graveside committal service will be held in Mt. James Joseph (JJ) Fry Sr., 49, of Hinesville, Ga., suddenly passed away on March 19,2021 in Greenville, Fla. while moving to his new home in Gautier, MS. James was born Feb. 23,1972, in Medina, NY. A son of Michael D Fry Sr and Marian A Fry. 

In 1990, James graduated from Medina High School and the Orleans/Niagara Career School for Machine Tool and Die, where he won first place in the VICA skills competition. November 1990 James entered the U.S. Marine Corps. and trained in Paris Island, SC. Following his training, James was stationed many places over his 20 years of service, including lwakuni ,Japan, North Carolin, Alaska, Yuma, Ariz., Hawaii, Twenty Nine Palms, Calif., and St Roberts, MO. from where he retired as Gunnery Sergeant E-7. James was also a recruiter for the U.S. Marine Corp out of Batavia, NY Armed Forces recruiting office from 1998-2001. After retirement James became a Private Military Contractor for a few years, where he was deployed to Afghanistan. James has an Associated degree and currently working towards in Bachelor degree in Engineering prior to his passing. 

James love spending time with his sons. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry and barbecuing. He was very active in the American Legion in Hinesville, Ga., and always lending a helping hand to those who needed it. Every fall he enjoyed coming home to Medina, to hunt and meet up with all his friends. Through the years James made many military friends and friends from all over wherever he went. He touched so many hearts, and always had a story to tell.

James was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Louis and Alice Gurzenski; paternal grandparents, Duane and Clara Fry; and infant brother, Michael D Fry Jr. 

James is survived by his fiance, Vicki England-Ervin; sons: James J Fry Jr. and Michael D Fry whom are serving in the U.S. Navy; their mother, Alejandra Mendoza Rankin; his parents: Michael D Fry (Anne Waller) and Marian A Fry (Stephen Seitz Sr); siblings: Christina Moule (Anthony Sr) and Lisa Avila (Jose Sr.); as well as his niece and nephews: McKayla Moule, Anthony Moule Jr., Jose Avila Jr, Ashley (Justin) Schichler, Maria and Joshua Avila; aunts and uncles: James Gurzenski (lynda), Karen (Douglas Dunn) Cheryl Olsen (Eric) and Rhonda Wasnock (John); several cousins; two special military friends: James (Mary Ann) Abrahamson and James (Lisa) Bensley. 

A private viewing was held for James at the Abbey Funeral Home in Tallahassee, Fla. A memorial service with military honors will be held at a later date in the convenience of the family.

With sadness, we wish to announce the passing of our beloved mother, Beverly Jean Iorio Hewitt, on March 25, 2021.

She was born, July 29, 1934, in Medina, NY, a small farming town in upstate New York to the late Samuel and Mary Detroya Iorio. She graduated from St. Mary’s Parochial School and Medina High School in 1952. She married her high school sweetheart, the late Thomas John Hewitt Jr. (deceased 1986) in 1955. They moved to Long Island then to Waterford, CT to both work at Electric Boat where they started their family of four children. In 1960, they moved to Branford, CT where they remained for the rest of their lives. Beverly was a communicant of St. Mary Church in Branford and a member of its Ladies Guild. She was also a member of the St. Mary School Home and School Association, and she was a Red Cross volunteer for many years.

She is survived by her children: Elizabeth Tripp-Stout (Joe), Thomas John Hewitt III (Susan), Jennifer Hewitt White, and Amy Hewitt. Seven grandchildren: Emily Hewitt White, Thomas G. Hewitt, Colin Tripp, Anne Marie Hewitt, Mary Grace Hewitt White, Molly Sullivan (Ryan), Samuel Poryanda, and new great-grandson, sweet Theodore Sullivan. Also, survived by her sister, Josephine Fortunato and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers: Nicholas Iorio, Samuel Iorio, and sister, Louise Sevenski.

Bev, Mimi, was a beautiful person inside and out. Her family was the most important part of her life. She cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and newest addition to the family, precious Theo. She was a kind, loving woman who always saw the best in people. She will greatly be missed by everyone she crossed paths with. The pearly gates of heaven will be wide open waiting for her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wed., March 31, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Bosco Parish in St. Mary Church, Branford. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours.

Mary L. Gray 61, of Lyndonville, NY passed away suddenly on Fri., March 19, 2021. She was born July 1, 1959 in Buffalo, NY to the late Richard and Gloria (Harold) Grabowski. She was the loving mother to Michael (Katlin) Smith and grandmother to: Grayson, Charlotte, and Marshall. She is also survived by her sister, Cheryl (Tom) Owen and several nieces and nephews. 

Mary’s love of people suited her well for her lifetime career in the service industry. Mary also had a deep love for animals. She was very passionate about horses and spent her youth in competitive barrel racing. Her love of dogs led her to become a very successful breeder of labradors under her business Highwinds Kennel. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and trying out new restaurants.

FAIRPORT – Love. Joy. Peace. Patience. Kindness. Goodness. Faithfulness. Thoughtfulness. Gentleness. Self-Control. Those fruits of the Holy Spirit best encompass the Catholic life of Elizabeth “Betty” Ann (Happ) Bowers.

A loving wife, mother of eight children, 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, joined everlasting life and happiness, Thursday, March 25. She was born in Batavia, NY on January 24, 1924, the daughter of Leo and Clara Happ. Betty received a degree as a Dental Hygienist from the Eastman Dental Dispensary in Rochester, NY.

In April 1947, she married Arthur Bowers, also of Batavia, who predeceased her in 2001. The couple moved to Albion, NY and began a loving life together centered on a strong, well-connected family. It includes: James (Maureen) of Syracuse, NY; Mary (Douglas) Steward of Bokeelia, FL; Ann Marie (deceased); Thomas (Aileen) of Rochester, NY; Margie (Dean) Bowman of Maui, HI; Teresa (Jerome) Pawlak of Albion, NY; Catherine (Robert) Traver of Fairport, NY; and Michael (Nancy) of Hudson, WI.

Betty was a wonderful, dedicated, caring mom who loved, taught and nurtured her children throughout their early years, while managing the demands of a large household. She loved to travel and was instrumental in the planning and preparations for transporting a carload of kids on long trips across the US. She visited almost every state in her lifetime.

Betty was completely dedicated to her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, actively participating in all aspects of their lives. Her favorite phrase: “I am so blest.”

Giving up her career as a Dental Hygienist early on to raise her family, Betty was always an active volunteer at her children’s schools and at her church. While in Albion, she was also employed as a newspaper route supervisor for the Rochester Times Union, even recruiting her children time and again to assist with paper routes.

Even when Art and Betty moved to Fairport in 1997, Betty continued her volunteering, most recently at the Fairport Baptist Homes in the gift shop. Betty did not enjoy driving so she took any opportunity to walk. She loved her daily walks. Everyone always remarked how they would see her out and about and could not catch up with her.

She enjoyed socializing, whether in person or on the telephone. Old movies, reading, bingo, cards, board games, cross word and jigsaw puzzles were her favorites, and she loved to win. She was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills, Syracuse Orange, and above all, the New York Yankees. She had a delightful, welcoming presence that would light up a room, bringing joy to all who knew her. Prayer was especially important in her daily life. She rarely missed a day without saying the Rosary.

In addition to her parents, husband and infant daughter, Betty was preceded in death by her youngest sister, Mary Rogers, and nieces Sandy Bowers Reed and Marcy Rogers Stamey. In addition to her children and their spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren, she is also survived by a sister, Alice Moulton, of Fort Pierce, FL; sister-in-law, Jane Bowers of Baltimore, MD; and many loving nephews and nieces.

The family would like to thank the Fairport Baptist Homes for the wonderful and loving care that they gave to our mom for the past four years, especially her 2G family.

MEDINA – Carl Culotta was born on July 3rd, 1929 in Medina to Cosemo and Josephine (Colletti) Culotta. He went home to his Lord, Jesus Christ on March 26, 2021, at 91 years of age.

Carl was a man that held his family close to his heart. He was always there being the best son, brother and uncle a man could be. He made a profound impact on the lives of those he loved.

Carl graduated from Medina High School in the class of 1950 and remained close friends with many of his classmates. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, stationed in Massachusetts, Edwards Base. He then enjoyed being employment at General Motors Harrison Radiator, retiring after 35 years. He spent his retirement taking care of his mother and enjoying the extended family.

He is survived by his loving sister, Nancy L. Climenhaga. He will be missed greatly by his nephews, Dirk (Sandra) Climenhaga, David (Bonnie) Bolea and Paul (Terri) Bolea and his nieces, Kathleen Margle, Donna (Paul) Forbes, Patty (Bill) Myers and Brenda (John) Carr. He was loved by his great nieces and nephews. Carl was especially close to Mckinley, Tyler and Reilly Climenhaga. His gentle spirit, unwavering support and steadfast love impacted their lives for the better.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Anna Bolea, Marion Goodwin and brother, John Culotta.

The family would like to thank the staff at Applegate Manor and the North Wing nurses and staff. The care and love he received from them during this Covid season was beyond appreciated.

GASPORT – Reverend Clarence Elliott, 87, of Gasport, went home to the Lord on March 25, 2021. He was born January 26, 1934 to George and Pearl Elliott on the family farm in Butler Township, Pennsylvania. He was the youngest of four children.

He attended Capital University, in Columbus, OH, earning a degree in history. Subsequently he studied theology at Evangelical Lutheran Seminary, also in Columbus, and was ordained in 1959. He started his ministerial service as pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lyndonville and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilson, serving the two congregations from 1959 to 1963. He later served congregations in Beaver Falls, PA (1963-1967) and Birnamwood, WI, (1967-1971) before returning to St. John’s in Lyndonville, where he remained until his retirement in 2000.

After retiring, he continued to serve several congregations in Niagara County on a part-time basis, most recently at Faith Lutheran Church in Newfane. In 2019 he was honored by the Upstate New York Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America on the 60th anniversary of his ordination. In a letter addressing his colleagues for the occasion, he wrote, “Preach the word! That is a pastor’s first task. And always-ALWAYS To God be the Glory!”

Clarence was a lifelong fan of the Buffalo Bills and the Green Bay Packers. He also enjoyed watching the Buffalo Sabres. When he wasn’t watching and cheering on his teams, he was rarely without a book to read. In later years, chatting up cashiers, waitresses, tellers, and healthcare workers put a smile on his face and on those around him.

Clarence was predeceased by his loving wife, Carolyn; his siblings, Donald Elliott, Geraldine Watkins and Hazel Pennington; and his grandson, Noah.

He is survived by his children, Thomas (Rose) Elliott of Elba, NY, Susan Elliott of Gillette, WY, and Kristina Elliott of Queens, NY, as well as his grandchildren, Timothy (Crystal) Elliott, Melissa (Bradley) Mudzrynski, Elizabeth and Marianna Dietz, and Olivia Kowar; great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Nathan and Derek. He is also survived by nieces, Carol Fizer, Linda Elliott-Leitsch and Elaine Lombardo and nephew, Ron Pennington.

He will be dearly missed, but fondly remembered.

HOLLEY – On March 25th, 2021, the world lost an incredible woman. After a courageous battle with liver cancer, (yes, this can happen to those who do not drink) Cheryl Miller Revier died peacefully at home under round-the-clock angelic care from her family and Hospice. Her spirit, released from her worn-out body, is now joyfully exploring the universe.

A woman who we lovingly referred to as Cheryl, Cherie, Mom, Noni, Yoni, and the best friend ever. A woman who was devoted to her family, loved having fun, soap operas (The Young and the Restless), pizza, fireworks, bonfires, Fair Haven, and shared an indescribable kinship with many four-legged canine friends.

She possessed the most contagious laugh you would ever hear … a woman who had a non-judgmental attitude toward all and was never heard criticizing or speaking badly of anyone. She did not know the meaning of the word gossip. You were free to be yourself around Cheryl because that is how she loved you, unconditionally. You were proud to be related to her or blessed to call her your friend … a woman who was always glad to see you … and whose welcome mat was always out at her neat and tidy home.

She was a woman whose love affair with her husband, Brian, lasted over 40 years … a woman who felt one of her greatest accomplishments in her life was the rapport she shared with her children – Jessica Revier, HMI at US Navy Philip Revier and Cameron Revier… a woman whose love and pride in her four grandchildren – Laci, Anthony, Collin and Sequoyah – was unsurpassed.  Sharing in her family’s happiness and accomplishments was her ultimate joy.

Cheryl was a woman whose easy smile, bubbling personality, and kindness warmed the lives of many … a woman who found peace in the simple pleasures of life – whose heart was easily filled with time spent on her back yard deck savoring a cup of tea and being ever-so-grateful for the serenity of the place she called home. She possessed a green-thumb that enticed the most reluctant plants to grow and flourish.

“Miss Cheryl” was a devoted employee who was loved by all the children she interfaced with daily whom she treated with respect, but also insisted on (and received) respect in return. As a child, she was the cousin all the kids wanted to spend time with. A fun-loving gal who was always up for an adventure, with just the perfect amount of mischievousness included.

Cheryl accepted the news of her disease with grace and dignity. She admitted it was, indeed, hard at times, but recognized she was a lucky woman, who led a lucky existence, loved many people and was loved in return. For this she was eternally grateful. Her beloved friends and family were so very precious to her. Knowing and loving each one of them was the real success story of her life. She knew, undoubtedly, we will joyfully meet again. And for this reason, she decided to be at peace now and thankful about having had a full life, rather than sad about having to physically leave us.

Knowing Jessica, Philip and Cameron were all in good places in their lives and had become such good people, made it easier for her to temporarily say goodbye. She prays Brian will feel her presence when she’s gone.

Besides her husband, children and grandchildren, Cheryl is also survived by her father and mother-in-law, Gary and Ann Revier; sisters-in-law, Beth (Michael) Hennessy and Lori (Rob) Thorpe and their children; her aunts, Carol Roth, Alice Crawford, Billie Bubel. Left to mourn her loss are many other close-to-her-heart family members and cherished friends.

Cheryl was predeceased by her parents, Jack and JoAnne Miller (whom she lovingly cared for during their illnesses with a passion and dedication she never gave herself enough credit for); her grandparents, Kenneth and Lorraine Davy and Jake and Tillie Thomas; along with many other loved ones.

Cheryl realized every cloud has a silver lining, that she would now be able to simultaneously watch over her loved ones, but at the same time, like family gatherings she so loved, was looking forward to the many who were waiting to welcome her home with open arms.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 31^st, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 16650 State Route 31, Holley, NY 14470. Please note the funeral home will be operating at 50% capacity per state guidelines. New York State requires those in attendance to adhere to the social distancing guidelines and face coverings are mandatory.

Another gathering will take place when the flowers bloom and the leaves on the trees are visible and we can safely be together without Covid restrictions and where we will celebrate how very thankful we are for a woman named Cheryl who God sent to be in our lives. She will be missed beyond description.

MASSENA/ALBION – Terry W. Loney, 76, died March 25, 2021 in the Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center following a short illness. He was born October 30, 1944 in England to William Loney and Joan (Martin/Loney) Jackson and had lived in Massena prior to moving to Albion 4 years ago.  Terry was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and was a former member of the American Legion and the VFW. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, traveling and especially playing golf.

Terry is survived by his wife of almost 53 years, Barbara; sons, William (Tisha) Loney of Albion, Thomas (Shye Louis) Loney of Chili, and Terry J. (Lauren) Loney of Clay; brothers, Lee Jackson Kramer of FL, and David (Kathy) Jackson of FL; a sister, Joanne (William) Lapiere of Colton; 3 grandchildren, Rachael, Bryan and Nicole Loney as well as several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours. A private service and interment in the Western New York National Cemetery at Pembroke will be held at the convenience of the family.

BARKER – Marie W. Conley of Barker, formerly of Middleport, passed away Thursday morning, March 25^th, at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. She was born on July 22, 1927 in Middleport, a daughter of John and Faye Owlett Whitney.

Mrs. Conley was a graduate and salutatorian of Royalton-Hartland High School class of 1945. She graduated from Buffalo State College and taught in the Lyndonville school district for five years. After 17 years at home caring for her children, she became a home economics agent for Cornell University Cooperative Extension.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Parish in Barker and a former member of St. Stephen’s Church in Middleport. She was also an active member of the Clute Phillips Post #938 American Legion Auxiliary. For many years she was actively involved in the American Legion Auxiliary Girls State Program. Marie’s favorite times were spent with her immediate and extended family at their home on the lake in Barker, watching the beautiful sunsets.

Her husband of 55 years, James F. Conley, predeceased her in 2007.  She lost her eldest son Michael in 2012. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Dallas (Loraine) Whitney and Douglas (Mildred) Whitney as well as brothers- and sisters-in-law, Thomas Conley, Hugh and Joan O’Neill and Ruth Ann Tomtishen.

She is survived by four sons, Timothy J. (Sherry) Conley, Patrick J. (Jackie) Conley, Thomas C. (Amy) Conley, all of Middleport, and Daniel K. (Charlene) Conley of Gasport; daughter-in-law, Sunne Conley; 10 grandchildren, Tamara Stern, Stephen Conley, Catherine Conley, Erin Conley, Sarah Conley, Amanda Conley, Faye Conley, John Conley, Brendan Conley and Evan Conley; eight great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, N. Theresa Conley; nieces, Joanne Whitney and Janet Lyndaker; as well as several other nieces and nephews.

Sandra Lee Young, 78, of Waterport went to be with the Lord on March 19, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born Oct. 23, 1942 in Albion to the late Frank O. and Ruth E. (Sanford) Spencer.

Sandra enjoyed crafting, sewing, painting, homemaking and baking. She was once known as the “Pie Lady” of the Albion area. She ran a roadside stand with fresh baked pies for sale. She also had a fruit and vegetable stand where she sold produce from the working/hobby farm that she and her husband David cultivated. They raised many animals and continued the “Young” tradition of fruit trees, mostly apple. Sandy painted beautiful landscapes and portraits that are dispersed now between family and friends. If she wasn’t crafting in some way then you knew she wasn’t feeling well.

Sandy had a love for horses that started years ago from working as a stable girl for Miles and Jeanette Byers Horse Farm as an older teenager. As a younger child, she had stories of playing with her brother and sister and many friends growing up on Erie St. in Albion. Sandy would describe herself as more boy than girl when she would hang with her friends. Her favorite person was her grandfather, William H. Sanford. Toward the end of her illness, she would talk about the great times at her grandparents’ home. Her grandmother Beaulah (Bordney) Sanford and grandfather held a special place in her heart.

Sandy lived a very full life with many years of marriage with David and her five children. In their later years they divorced, but still continued to be friends and enjoy time with the kids and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her ex-husband, David A. Young; and her twin brother, Arthur W. “Bud” Spencer.

Sandra is survived by her five daughters: Deborah (Philip) Wehner, Pamela (Kevin) Ignaszak, Rebecca (Joe) Wietler, Priscilla (Ron) Richardson, and Erin Young. Also, many grandchildren: Philip (Cassie) Wehner, Christina (Josh) Pedroza, Ruth Young, Quinlan Ignaszak, Hope Young, Sydney Ignaszak, Gwenyth Ignaszak, and Lena Young; great-grandchildren: Gabe, Ben, and Jase Pedroza, Bailey, Portlan, and Kennedy Wehner; sister, Kathleen E. (Jim) Pflaumer Bush; and also many nieces, and nephews.

Terri A. Haskins, 44, of Kendall, passed away Wed., March 17, 2021. Born on Aug. 28, 1976, in Cuba, she was a daughter of Melvin N. and Donna L. Duvall Smith, Jr.

Terri was a graduate of Cuba Central School Class of 1994.  She had worked for Clover Hill Nursing Home as a head cook for several years, but was currently employed by SUNY Brockport.

She loved her daughters and thought the world of them. She enjoyed camping, kayaking, cooking, softball, being outdoors, and was a fun-loving Aunt to all of her nieces and nephews. She loved quiet evenings with friends and always had a glass of wine in hand. She had an uncanny ability to find happiness in her daily activities and her personality was contagious to whomever she met. To sum her up in words she was tenacious, tough, persistent, independent, stubborn, outgoing, and full of laughter.

Terri is survived by her daughters: Kali (Preston) Muth serving in the U.S. Air Force, Alexis Haskins, and Aubreye Haskins; her parents Melvin N. (Donna L.) Smith, Jr. of Cuba; her siblings: Trisha (Colby) Johnson of Bolivar, Tanya (Nick) Alcocer of Lee, NH,  Tiffany (Ben) Larabee and Andrew (Stephanie) Smith all of Cuba; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her former husband, Todd Haskins of Kendall.

She will be reunited with her loving niece Trinity who also left us too soon.

Sandra A. (Lichti) Hrynczyszyn, 67 of Medina entered into rest on Mon., March 22, 2021 at the Medina Memorial Hospital.

Born in Batavia on Nov. 2, 1953 Sandra was a daughter of the late Merrill and Evelyn (Matthews) Lichti. She graduated from Oakfield-Alabama High School and went on to earn an Associate Degree later in life. She moved to South Carolina in the 1970s and came back in 2001. A natural caretaker, Sandra enjoyed working in customer service most of her life. Recently, she had worked for McDonald’s in Medina. She was a Buffalo Bills fan and enjoyed going to the casinos. She enjoyed being outdoors and especially loved her dogs, Ruby, Chloe and Dumplin’.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Eugene Hrynczyszyn of Medina; three children: Jimmy Andrews, Laura (Jammie) Reed, Jennifer (Nate) Simpson and Jenna Nickerson; grandchildren: Stephanie Wiatrak, LilyAnya Andrews, Matthew, Joshua and Makayla Reed, Bentley and Maverick Nickerson; sister, Barbara Gray; nieces and nephews: Deke and Dustin Blanton, Nikki Cavers, Brandi Parsons, Jocelyn Murphy and Justice Barnum. Preceded in death by her parents and sister, Linda Parsons.
