David D. “DJ” Tombari Jr., 34, of Lyndonville, NY, entered into rest on Sunday, March 21, 2021.

He was born on March 19, 1987 in Albion, NY, a son of David D. Tombari Sr. and the late Debra (Grah) Tombari.

DJ attended Lyndonville High School and received his G.E.D. through Niagara/Orleans BOCES. He was currently working for a tree service company and was a talented tree climber. He was an avid outdoorsman, which he was passing down to his son by teaching him to hunt, fish and race dirt bikes. DJ had a love of music and enjoyed attending live concerts. Most of all, DJ enjoyed the time spent with family and friends.

DJ is survived by his father, David D.(Clara) Tombari Sr. of Medina; his son, Dominik Tombari; three siblings: Miranda Tower and Zachary Tombari, both of Medina and Dorothy Lee of Florida; aunts and uncles: Dorine “Aunt D” (Thomas) Kepner, Dennis (Heather Roberts) Tombari, all of Lyndonville; Bob Grah of Calif.; Karen Grah and Diane Grah, both of Albion. Also survived are cousins that considered him a brother: Thomas Jr. Rebecca, Aaron and Brittany; and his significant other, Savannah Vigrass and her son, Bryson Bluhm.

Besides his mother, DJ is predeceased by his infant son, Donovan George Tombari and his grandmother, Marilyn Eisenhower.

Gary Adams, 85, of Holley, NY passed away peacefully at home on March 17, 2021.

Predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Emilie (Goyette) Adams of Fairport; sister, Carol Alvut; brother, James Adams; and his daughter, Tamara Adams (David Brundage).

Survived by his loving wife, Mary Lou (Peglow) Adams; brother, Roger Adams (Brenda); children: Melanie Adams, Val Harder; grandchildren: Natasha (Todd), Jeremy (Amy), Jennifer, Christopher, Adrian (Pamela), Christa; great-grandchildren: Connor, Aidan, Hayley, Evelyn, Jazmin, Christian, Isaiah, Joshua, Lucas.

Gary was a veteran of the U.S. Army, stationed in Texas and Germany. He then enjoyed a brief period of employment with Xerox until he found his true calling, working for the U.S. Postal Service for most of his career.  Gary was a people person, making friends wherever he went along his postal carrier routes.  He did divert his career for a while, when he and Mary bought a motel in Old Forge and enjoyed some wonderful years in the Adirondacks. He was a devoted Frank Sinatra aficionado and encouraged all to share his appreciation of The Voice. He loved boating and cars, Manhattans and music, but mostly he loved spending time with his family.

MEDINA – Scott A. Heiligenthaler, 65, of Medina, NY, passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021, at home after a long courageous battle with cancer, with his loving family at his side. He was born on January 17, 1956, in Medina, a son of the late Joseph and Lois (Dillion) Heiligenthaler.

Scott graduated from Medina High School in 1974 and received his Bachelor Degree in Science from Syracuse University. He worked as an self-employed accountant, while working other business ventures. For over 25 years, Scott found extreme joy in refereeing basketball for the IAABO Group #53 and was a member of the Buffalo and Rochester Orienteering Club. Scott was one of the biggest Syracuse University Basketball fans in Medina.

Scott is survived by his wife of ten years, Peggy J. Heilgenthaler; four children, Matthew (Katie), D. Adam (Nicole), Jason and Joelle. Also leaving to mourn are his two step-sons, Bradley McMurray and Andrew (Jenna) McMurray; a grandson, Bryson; a step-granddaughter, Natalie; two brothers, Paul and David (Beth); and his first wife, Carol.

ALBION – Deborah S. Eastridge, 66, of Albion passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Unity Hospital in Rochester, NY. She was born on March 13, 1955 in Jackson, MI, a daughter of the late Donald G. and Nancy J. (Morris) Stiles.

She graduated from Gwinn High School and met the love of her life, Ralph F. Eastridge, Jr., who she married on December 14, 1973. Ralph was a career veteran of the U.S. Air Force, which took them to various stations throughout the country and world. While stationed in Ramstein, Germany, Deborah served as the president of the German American Club. A strong supportive wife and mother, Deborah worked various jobs including retail management. She was an avid and talented crocheter, having made many beautiful pieces for family and friends. Deborah’s most cherished position in life was of mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ralph Eastridge, Jr.; children, Dawn (Tony) Sorenson of Oregon, Jennifer (Adam) Doran of Lyndonville, Jessica Connolly of Batavia, Nancy (Chad) Wescott of Gates, and William (Sue) Eastridge of LeRoy; the light of her life, her grandchildren, Jenna and Alex-John Doran, Emma Eastridge, Orin and Logan McClain, Molly, Elizabeth, Annabelle, Catherine and Charlotte Wescott, William, Celina, JJ, Maybel and Alexis Eastridge; brothers, Don (Mary) Stiles and Clifford Stiles; also many brothers and sisters in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by son in-law, Jon Connolly.

Lynn P. Carson, age 79, of Medina entered into rest on Wed., March 17, 2021 at the Martin-Linsin Hospice Residence in Albion.

Born Oct. 9, 1941 in Medina, Lynn was the son of the late Paul H. and Ruth E. (Achilles) Carson. He graduated from Medina High School in the class of 1960 and remained close friends with many of his classmates. He served in the National Guard from 1962-1967. Lynn enjoyed his career as a machinist for Eastman Kodak in Rochester from 1964-1991 and also worked for 2 years at Fisher-Price Toys in Medina. A fan of fast cars, Farmall Tractors and John Deere, Lynn could fix anything. He loved spending time in his barn and taking care of his lawn. He was a familiar face at Rudy’s Diner in Medina, where he loved to have lunch with his friends and catch up on local gossip. Lynn had a great wit about him and was known to always give out good advice. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and loving family.

Survivors include his loving wife of 23 years, Betty A. Carson; daughter, Kristin A. (Christopher) Vogt; son, Craig H. (Brandie) Carson; mother of his children, Linda Keep Carson; stepson, Kip (late Andrea) Lonnen; grandchildren: Michael, Emma and Ethan Carson; step-grandchildren, Hannah, Dylan and Maggie Lonnen; sister, Ann (Dick) Cooke; and his beloved dog, Rusty.

There will be no prior visitation. A graveside service will be held in Millville Cemetery, East Shelby, which will be announced at a later date. Isabel M. McCollister, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 17, 2021. She was born in Medina, NY on Nov. 12, 1931 to the late Harry and Esther (Rowley) Hungerford.

Izzy was a 1950 graduate of Medina High School. One year later, on July 28, 1951, Isabel and John McCollister were married. They had four children and shared 55 wonderful years together. She especially loved canning, sewing, and cooking for her family. Izzy also enjoyed watching sports, particularly hockey and baseball.

Loving mother of John (Marlene) McCollister, James McCollister, Mary (Thomas) Walders, Michele (Douglas) Heiderman; loving grandmother of: James (Brittney), John (Jaqueline), Holly (Matthew), Kyle (Tiffany), Shannon (Eric), Jennifer, Erin (Nicholas), Robert, Elizabeth (Jim), Thomas, Bradeen (Sebastian), Joseph (Hannah), Ashley (Robert), Kathryn (Seth), Gregory (Kylee). She is also survived by 21 great- grandchildren; a brother, Calvin Hungerford; a sister, Reevlyn Quiett, and several nieces and nephews. Isabel is predeceased by her husband, John (Jack) McCollister, her parents, and siblings (Mary Alice, Earl, Eugene, and Maxine).

Harvey H. Sprout, 87, of Middleport died March 17, 2021 in his home following a short illness.  He was born Jan. 5, 1934 in Lockport to Lloyd and Gladys (Clayton) Sprout and had been a lifetime resident of this area.

Harvey attended the Faith Bible Baptist Church and was a member of the Hartland Bible Church in Gasport.  Farming, however, was his world and spent a lifetime nurturing the land and his animals.  He took great pride in his family and enjoyed the company of his grandchildren.

Harvey is survived by his wife of 63 years, Beverly; his children: Susan (Douglas) Spears of Middleport, Steven (Kimberly) Sprout of Arkansas., Ronald (Karen) Sprout of Middleport, Wendy (Steven) Falta of Honeoye Falls, Kimberly (Stephen) Lunden of Middleport; 17 grandchildren: Crystal (Matthew), Shelly (Marc), Katelyn (Matthew), Jacob (Jaylin), Josiah, JonLuke (Allissa), Jayden, Kendra, Mitchell, Anna, Jennifer, Joseph, Zachary, Abigail, Sarah, Amanda, Rebecca; and 9 great-grandchildren.

Delores M. Pratt, 100, of Medina, NY, went to be with the Lord on Sat., March 13, 2021 at home with loving family at her side.

Born on Oct. 15, 1920 in Toledo, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Leonora (Meineke) Moungie.

On June 16, 1939, she married the late Herbert Earl Pratt and together they raised four children. Delores attended the University of Toledo, where she earned her Associate Degree in Food Service Management. She was a devoted mother and housewife and in the later years worked for the Office of the Aging in Toledo, Ohio, coordinating meal plans.  Delores and her husband were charter members of Lutheran Memorial Church of North Syracuse, NY and  All Saints Lutheran Church of Toledo, Ohio.  She was currently a member at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church of Medina, NY. She loved flowers, traveling, large-piece puzzles, cooking and baking for her family and friends. Most of all, Delores cherished her time spent with family and friends.

Delores is survived by her children: Nancyjean Fey of Oak Harbor, Wash., Barb (Jim) Hancock of Medina, NY, Paul (Linda) Pratt of Anderson, S.C., David (Sandy) Pratt of Toledo, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, Delores is predeceased by 3 sisters, 2 brothers and a granddaughter.

MEDINA – Joann V. Beyer (nee Vendetta), 86, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 15, 2021. She was born on November 6, 1934, the daughter of the late Thomas A. and Amelia (nee Castricone) Vendetta.

She was a 1952 graduate of Medina High School. Joann married the late Francis E. Beyer, Sr. on August 6, 1955 in St. Mary’s Church, Medina. She worked as a bank teller for Marine Midland Bank for many years. Joann enjoyed family gatherings, especially when she was able to visit with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She welcomed everyone into her home with a smile. She enjoyed watching the NY Yankees, Buffalo Bills and always had to finish her evening watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.

Besides her husband, Joann is predeceased by her son Francis E. “Fafi” Beyer, Jr.; and siblings Thomas J. (late Barbara) Vendetta and Carolyn Petkus.

She is survived by her grandchildren Mitchell Beyer, Sonya (Eric) Newsome and Amanda Beyer; great-grandchildren Amari, Carter, Gavin, Drew, Lexie, Sophia, Greyson and Weston; siblings Richard M. (Audrey Bower) Vendetta, Sr. and Francis (Deborah) Vendetta; and many loving nieces and nephews.

There will be no prior visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday from Holy Trinity Parish, St. Mary’s Church, 211 Eagle Street, Medina at 11:30 a.m. As you prepare to attend, please be mindful that face coverings and social distancing is required at all times. Shirley M. Baun, 83, of Lyndonville, NY, passed away on Fri., March 12, 2021 at the Orchard Manor Nursing Home, Medina, NY.

Born on May 2, 1937 in Lyndonville, NY, she was the daughter of the late Fredrick and Rena (Martin) Goetze.

In Sept. of 1958, she married the late Larry Baun and together they made their home in Lyndonville raising three children. She worked various jobs, including at the Lyndonville Canning Factory. Shirley enjoyed the outdoors and nature. She especially enjoyed watching the hummingbirds and other birds at her many feeders. She also enjoyed going out to eat at The Hojack Shack in Lyndonville.

Shirley is survived by her children: Eric Baun of Lyndonville, Randy (Kathy) Baun of Lyndonville, Darren (Heather) Baun of Rochester; two grandsons: John and Robert Baun. Also surviving is a brother, Charles Goetze of Lyndonville and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Shirley is predeceased by five siblings.

Catherine M. Kazimer, 78, of Barre died March 15, 2021 in her home following a long illness.  She was born Oct. 2, 1942 in Buffalo to Phillip and Irene (Hallermeyer) Eckert and had lived in the Western NY area most of her life.  

Catherine retired from General Motors having worked at the Tonawanda Engine Plant.  Ms. Kazimer will be remembered as a very loving and family-oriented person.  

She is survived by her loving partner of 39 years Thomas Woelfle; her daughter, Sally (Paul) McMullen of Derby; several grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.

Shirley M. Sheelar, 76, of Medina and formerly of Batavia passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on Sat., March 13, 2021.

Born Dec. 31, 1944 in Batavia, Shirley was a daughter of the late Randall and Georgianna (Rossman) Allen. She graduated from Oakfield Alabama High School in the class of 1962. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Shirley was a wonderful caretaker. She worked for the Genesee County Nursing Home in Batavia as a nurse’s aide for many years and retired early so that she could care for her mother-in-law in her final years. Shirley selflessly took care of her husband and sister during times of health issues, as well as her parents.

She married Adam F. “Butch” Sheelar, Jr. in 1989 and moved to the Medina area. Shirley enjoyed many years of travelling, enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading and loved listening to her favorite gospel hymns. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and close friends. Shirley adored and was extremely proud of her grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Shirley was recently predeceased by her husband of 31 years, Adam Sheelar, Jr. on Feb. 2, 2021; and a brother, Richard Bauer.

Survivors include her daughter, Michelle (Robert) Grazioplene; stepchildren: Scott (Tina) Sheelar and Bernadine (Roger) Harden; grandchildren: Alex and Lyndsey Grazioplene, Leah Sheelar, Jensen and Trevor Harden; great-grandson, Kingsley Harden; siblings: Ralph (Marylou) Bauer, Gary (Jane) Bauer, Jeanne (Tom) Fuller, Donald (Maryann) Allen and David (Carol) Allen; sister in-law, Connie Bauer; several nieces and nephews; and very best friends: Irene Sulimowicz and Shirley Ford.

Devorah Venice “Dee” Holloway, 58, of Medina, NY, went to be with the Lord on Wed., March 10, 2021 at her home.

Born on Jan. 16, 1963, in Baltimore Maryland, she was the daughter of the late David Scoffied and Bessie Mae (Alston) Clemons.

Devorah graduated from Concordia Preparatory High School in 1981 and enlisted in the United States Air Force, where she met and married Clyde Devin Holloway in 1982. She received her honorable discharge in 1984 and they both relocated to the Medina area.  She was employed at BernzOmatic until 1995 and then worked as an Instructor at the Iroquois Job Corps, until 2020, when her ill health prevented her from working.

Dee leaves behind to mourn her husband of 40 years, Clyde Devin Holloway; three children: Arielle, Jeremiah and Nathanial Holloway, all of Medina; three brothers: David, Darryl and Dwayne Clemons, all of Baltimore, Md.; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Darkness was created so a light could shine. Devorah’s life and love, was and is, that light which will comfort and guide us through this dark time. She is gone, but never forgotten.

HAMLIN – Nicole Campbell Williams, dedicated, loving and beloved mother of: Lillian Mary Williams, Michael Campbell Williams; step-daughter Michaela Williams; precious daughter of, Michael and Mary Campbell; cherished sister of: Douglas and Alison Urbino and dear aunt of: Jocelyn Nicole Urbino, stepped into the arms of Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior, on March 12, 2021.

Born in Holley and raised in Kendall, Nikki spent her life serving others. She worked with children and adults with disabilities through several organizations, including Easterseals. She then worked in the Genesee County Department of Social Services before taking her most recent position as a Genesee County Probation Officer.

Nikki was predeceased by her grandparents: Berly and Helen Persia, Herb and Belle Campbell, and a number of great aunts and uncles that were a part of her upbringing. She is survived by uncles and aunts: Skip and Viola Persia, Don and Judy Persia, Herb and Rachael Campbell, Danny and Tania Campbell, Rebecca Brezna, Debbie Ham and Denise Campbell. She is also survived by a number of cousins; as well as close friends: Lisa Galle and Viola Morgan.

A service in honor of Nikki will be held Sat., March 20 at Calvary Chapel Westside, 2407 Union St, Spencerport, NY 14559. The doors will open at 9:45 a.m. and the service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Seating is generous and all are welcome. Masks are required.

Connie S. Bissell, 58, of Kendall died unexpectedly March 12, 2021 at her home. She was born Sept. 7, 1962 in Albion, a daughter of the late Charles and Carol (VanOrden) Buzard and had lived in this area all of her life.

Connie worked as an office manager at her husband Ron’s auto repair shop for over 15 years.  She enjoyed taking rides on the back of Ron’s motorcycle.  She was known as the “cookie lady” because she loved baking cookies, as well as making salsa.  Connie loved all holidays, but Christmas was her favorite.  Most of all Connie loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She made quilts for all of them and loved doing arts and crafts whenever they were together.  She was the best grandma. 

Connie is survived by her husband Ron, of 36 years; her sons: James (Ashley Jesmer) Bissell, Christopher Bissell, Brian (Kayla) Bissell; grandchildren: Matthew, Cayden, Bradley, Joshua, Bella, David, Addison, Elijah, Christopher Jr.; sisters: Robin Snyder, Brenda (Frank) Faro, Patty (Mark) Faro, Penny (Guy) Steffen, Nancy Buzard; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bob and Cora Bissell; brother-in-law, Tim Bissell; sister-in-law, Mary (Aaron) Bissell; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Maxine H. Parada, passed away unexpectedly on Sun., March 14, 2021 at the age of 77.

Born in Batavia on Aug. 5, 1943, Maxine was the daughter of the late Max and Helen (Zaremski) Tomski. She graduated from Batavia High School in the class of 1961. On May 2, 1964 she married Bernard A. Parada and together raised a family of three children. Maxine worked as a teacher’s aide, first for Niagara Orleans BOCES and then for the Medina Central School District, where she eventually retired from after many years. She was a parishioner of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus R.C. Church in Medina where she was a member of the Rosary Society and the Mother’s Club. Upon Sacred Heart’s closing, she became a parishioner of Holy Trinity R.C. Parish, St. Mary’s Church. Maxine was a TWIG volunteer at Medina Memorial Hospital and also was a member of the Sacred Heart Club. She enjoyed tending to her flowers and visiting her granddog, Lilo.

Maxine loved to keep connected with family and friends. Whether it was a daily phone call or remembering to send a card for every holiday, Maxine had a special way of letting those around her know that she loved them. Never one to sit idle, Maxine enjoyed being out and about. She cherished her daily outings and dinners with her loving companion, George, who will miss her dearly.

Besides her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Parada in 1995 and brother, Paul Tomski in 2013.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Deborah (David) Feltz, Darrin (Julie) Parada and Melanie (Christopher) Napoleon; her companion, George Tomaselli; grandchildren: Madeline and Aaron Feltz, Rebecca and Megan Parada, Roman, Gustave and Angelina Napoleon; brothers: Dennis (Margaret) Tomski and Lucien (Maureen) Tomski; sisters-in-law: Mary Jane Szczechowiak and Donna Tomski; brother in-law, Anthony Parada; several nieces and nephews; and dear cousin, Linda (Jim) Nalbauch.

Calling hours will be held on Fri., March 19 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. Masks and social distancing will be mandatory. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Sat., March 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Parish, St. Mary’s Church, 211 Eagle St., Medina. Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Thomas L. “Pops” Wilcox, 79, Franklinville, Pa., passed away on Sun., March 14, 2021 at home surrounded by his family.

Born on June 15, 1942 in Bradford, Pa. he was a son of Gerald L. and Neva A. McCutcheon Wilcox. On July 7, 1962, in Beaufort, N.C., he married Mary “Penny” Bess, who survives.

Tom was a graduate of Otto-Eldred High School. Mr. Wilcox was a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, and a veteran of the Vietnam War, retiring as a staff sergeant.

He was then employed by Quaker State, which later became Allied Signal, at both the Emlenton and Farmers Valley locations, where he retired as plant manager.

Tom was a longtime member, and former commander, of the American Legion Post 887 of Eldred. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, enjoyed woodworking and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening and working on vehicles.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are two sons: Dennis (Tammy) Wilcox of Eldred, Pa. and Robert L. (Ada) Wilcox of Durant, Okla.; two daughters: Tammy (Jerry) Peterson of Bradford and Sherrill (Pete) Sciortino of Franklinville; six grandchildren: Bruce (Jamie) Wilcox, Ethan Peterson, Christina Wilcox, Jeana Skiver, Kyle (Kendra) Wilcox and Aaron Wilcox; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald J. (Nancy) Wilcox of NC; two sisters: Marcia Holley of Rixford, Pa. and Jamie (Herm) Glover of Rixford.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and a sister.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tue., March 16, 2021 at the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wed., March 17, 2021. Burial will be in Lamphier Cemetery, Eldred.

Jane E. Beach, 91, of Holley died March 13, 2021 at Unity Hospital.  She was born Jan. 23, 1930 in Albion, a daughter of the late Clarence and Leona (Gibson) Sargent and had lived in this area all of her life.

Jane was predeceased by her husband, William in 1989 and her brother, Warren Sargent. She is survived by her cousins: Ann Walker, Mary Lou Murdoch, Jim Walker, Linda Fessenden, and David Walker; special friends: Amy Zarzzara, Beulah Ward, Kay Marshall; and special friend and caregiver, Nancy Dill. 

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.  Memorials may be made to the Disciples United Methodist Church, 4410 Holley Byron Rd., Holley NY 14470.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. Holley.
