Fast start powers Orchard Park past Albion

Building up a commanding 18 point half-time advantage, Orchard Park went on to defeat host Albion 66-48 in a non league boys basketball game this evening.
The Quakers held leads of 18-6 after the first quarter, 38-20 at the half and 54-34 at the three-quarter mark.
Max Mancabelli scored 17. Carter Switek 10 and Justice Niver and Zach Nalawadi 8 each to lead a parade of 10 point getters for the Quakers.
Kyle Radder took game high scoring honors with 25 for the Purple Eagles as Wesley Olles had 8 and Nate Gibson 7. Radder had 8 in the second quarter and 11 in the third.

LeRoy scores non league win over Holley

Moving on top to stay with a 13-2 run to close the first quarter, LeRoy went on to down host Holley 65-51 in a non league boys basketball game this evening.
LeRoy was up 17-10 at the end of the first quarter and went on to hold leads of 32-20 at the half and 50-39 after three quarters.
Holley did close the deficit to six, 43-37, late in the third period after an 11-2 run but could get no closer. Josh Silpoch scored 9 to lead the Hawks rally.
Silpoch and Vinny Golisano both finished with 14, Destin Kuyal 10 and Chris Mosier 9 to pace Holley.
Jean Agosto took game high scoring honors with 28 for LeRoy as Matthew Hockey netted 12 and Jake Higgins 11.
Notre Dame 76. Lyndonville 32
Notre Dame bested host Lyndonville 76-32 in a Genesee Region League game.
TJ Cephus Jr. scored 24 to lead the Irish.
Lane Woodworth scored 13 and Quincey McClinsey 6 for the Tigers.

Lady Eagles score G-R win at Alexander
Kendall downed host Alexander 50-42 in a Genesee Region League girls basketball game this evening.
Ava LaMay scored 12, Isabella D’Agostino 10, Lia Larson 8 and Addison Kludt 7 for Kendall which is now 1-2 in the league and 2-3 overall.
Oakfield-Alabama 45, Lyndonville 35
Alea Groff scored 22 including 7 threes to lead Oakfield-Alabama past Lyndonville 45-35 in a G-R contest.
Addison Dillenbeck scored 19 and Isabella Groves 15 for Lyndonville.
Byron-Bergen 46, Holley 38
Zoey Wolf scored 16 and Alivia Wolf 13 for Holley in the 46-38 G-R loss to Byron-Bergen.
Holley-Kendall matmen edge Lyndonville

Wins in the final two bouts earned Holley-Kendall a 40-30 victory over Lyndonville in a Genesee Region League wrestling match this evening at Kendall.
Breaking away from a 30-30 deadlock, Holley-Kendall regained the lead for good on an 8-0 major decision win by Jared Ostrander (190).
Holley-Kendall then locked up the victory as Manny Cornell (215) closed out the match with a first period pin of 1:32.
Trailing 30-18, Lyndonville had rallied into the 30-30 tie on back to back pins by Jesus Rosario (160) in 1:48 and Ben Doolan (170) in 4:36.
Holley-Kendall had built up the 30-18 lead on pins by Carson Cady (101) and Hunter Pachla (116) along with decision wins by Kohle Pachla (124) and Jacob Abrams (138) and a pair of forfeit wins.
Lyndonville’s points during that stretch came on pins by Chanse Amsdill (108), Ty Holmes (131) and Brody Hazel (145).
Holley-Kendall will next participate in the NCCC tournament this weekend while Lyndonville will take part in the Langley, Virginia Tournament on Saturday.

Roy-Hart/Barker wrestlers down Albion
Five pins and a technical fall win keyed Roy-Hart/Barker to a 47-29 win over host Albion in a Niagara-Orleans League wrestling match this evening.
Joey Jopp (138), Ronan Klug (170), RJ Townsend (285), Lucas Kimber (116) and Ely Brownlee (131) all registered pins for Roy-Hart/Barker as Luke Fay (145) had a technical fall win.
Jaxon Lynch (152), Noah Marat (160), Justin Mengs (101) and Corbin Piccirilli (124) all notched pins and Stryker Sanders (108) had a technical fall win for Albion.
Roy-Hart/Barker is now 1-1 and Albion 1-2 in N-O action.
Akron 37, Medina 23
Akron improved to 2-1 in N-O action with a 37-23 win over Medina which is now 0-3.
Reece Senske and Luke Duffina both had pins and Austin Seefeldt a technical fall win for Medina.
TigerSharks score sweep over Seahorses
Akron edged visiting Medina 68-65 in a Niagara-Orleans League boys’ swim meet on Tuesday.
Logan Meyers was an individual event double winner for the TigerSharks in the 100 Butterfly an 500 Freestyle.
Jackson Reese won both the 50 Free and 100 Free for the Seahorses as Brandon Brueckner took the 200 Free and Jonathan Dix the 100 Backstroke.
Akron completed the sweep by winning the girls’ meet 110-40.
Avery Haak doubled in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Backstroke and Audrey Garverick in the 200 Free and 100 Breaststroke for Akron.
Madeline Mark took the 500 Free for Medina.
The meet was the N-O opener for Akron while both Medina teams are now 0-2.
Lakemen turn back Rams late rally

A late comeback bid fell short as Roy-Hart dropped a 47-41 decision to visiting Wilson this evening in the season opening Niagara-Orleans League boys basketball game for both teams.
Trailing by 8, 37-29, at the outset of the fourth quarter, Roy-Hart put together a 12-5 scoring burst to rally back to within 1 at 42-41 with 34 seconds remaining.
A three by Tysen McCaa ignited that uprising which also included baskets by Matt Aquilina and Braden Ricker along with three free throws by Erique Powell and two by Dan Aquilina.
However, the Rams could not pull even as the Lakemen used three free throws by Aidan Neumann and two by Ryan Hough in the final 30 seconds to lock up the win.
Hough finished with 19, Neumann and Shamus George 8 to lead Wilson.
Dan Aquilina took game high honors with 21 for Roy-Hart as Ricker had 8 and Powell 7.
Wilson jumped out to a 17-14 first quarter lead as Hough scored 9 and Neumann 5. Dan Aquilina netted 11, including three threes, to keep Roy-Hart close.
The Lakemen went on to lead by margins of 23-19 at the half and 35-29 at the thee-quarter mark.
Roy-Hart next visits Medina and Wilson hosts Akron on Friday.

Purple Eagles score road win at Depew
Steadily pulling away, Albion posted a 64-50 victory over host Depew in a non league boys basketball game this evening.
Kyle Radder scored 19 to lead Albion as Tyler Cody had 11, Wesley Olles 9 and Isaiah Riley 8.
The Purple Eagles held leads of 14-12 after the first quarter, 31-19 at the half and 51-34 after three-quarters.
Radder scored 9 in the second quarter. Riley 6 in the third and Olles 6 in the fourth.
Albion next hosts Orchard Park in a non league contest at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
Alexander 61, Kendall 40
Alexander downed host Kendall 61-40 in a Genesee Region League game.
In another G-R contest, Oakfield-Alabama defeated Lyndonville 74-30.
Lady Rams roll to non league victory
Improving to 4-0, Roy-Hart posted a 53-27 victory over host Cheektowaga in a non league girls basketball game this evening.
Courtney Aquilina and Lila Brigham both scored 12 points to lead the Lady Rams as Adella Dukes and Millie Owens each netted 9.
Roy-Hart will host Medina in a Niagara-Orleans League game at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Roy-Hart/Barker swimmers sweep Albion
Roy-Hart/Barker swept to a doubleheader victory over host Albion in a Niagara-Orleans League swim meet today.
The Channel Cats won the boys’ meet 45-38 and the girls’ competition 53-40.
The Roy-Hart/Barker boys squad had a quartet of individual event winners as Jackson Brauen took the 200 Free, Noah Corraine the 500 Free, Hank Trombley the 100 Backstroke and Garrett Glyshaw the 100 Breaststroke.
Leo Bolton was a double winner in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Butterfly and Justin Kania in the 50 Free and 100 Free for Albion.
Ava Achtyl was a double winner in the 100 Free and 100 Backstroke for the Roy-Hart/Barker girls as Abigail Glyshaw took the 200 Individual Medley and Maria Trombley the 500 Free.
Keira Sidari won both the 200 Free and 100 Butterfly and Willow Gaines the 50 Free and 100 Breaststroke for Albion.
