Holley-Kendall matmen edge Lyndonville

Wins in the final two bouts earned Holley-Kendall a 40-30 victory over Lyndonville in a Genesee Region League wrestling match this evening at Kendall.

Breaking away from a 30-30 deadlock, Holley-Kendall regained the lead for good on an 8-0 major decision win by Jared Ostrander (190).

Holley-Kendall then locked up the victory as Manny Cornell (215) closed out the match with a first period pin of 1:32.

Trailing 30-18, Lyndonville had rallied into the 30-30 tie on back to back pins by Jesus Rosario (160) in 1:48 and Ben Doolan (170) in 4:36.

Holley-Kendall had built up the 30-18 lead on pins by Carson Cady (101) and Hunter Pachla (116) along with decision wins by Kohle Pachla (124) and Jacob Abrams (138) and a pair of forfeit wins.

Lyndonville’s points during that stretch came on pins by Chanse Amsdill (108), Ty Holmes (131) and Brody Hazel (145).

Holley-Kendall will next participate in the NCCC tournament this weekend while Lyndonville will take part in the Langley, Virginia Tournament on Saturday.
