Building up a commanding 4-0 half-time advantage, Kendall went on to down host Lyndonville 6-0 this afternoon in the Genesee Region League boys soccer season opener for both teams.

Brenden Eichas scored two goals while Brandon Barrett and Pablo Rosario-Reyes each netted one for the Eagles in the big opening half.

Barrett and Jonathan Esposito each scored a goal in the second half to round out the Kendall offense. Esposito also had a pair of assists on the day.

Jonny Conte earned the shutout in goal as the Eagles improve to 3-0 overall.

Albion improved to 4-1 in Niagara-Orleans League golf competition with a 232-incomplete win over Wilson today at Hickory Ridge.

Owen Spencer and Gavin Boyce each shot 44 to lead the way for Albion as Viktor Snyder had a 47 and Nate Gibson a 48.

Wilson’s Ben Meyers took medalist honors with a 41.

Medina edged host Buffalo Seminary 1-0 in a non league field hockey game this afternoon.

Akron 10, Wilson 0
Defending champion Akron improved to 2-0 in Niagara-Orleans League action by downing Wilson 10-0.

Morgan Tomporowski and Madison Gates each scored 5 goals to lead the Akron attack which featured a total of 30 shots.

Albion and Medina both romped to non league boys soccer victories on the road today.

Albion defeated host Cardinal O’Hara 8-1 and Medina downed Buffalo Academy of Science 10-1.

Garret Jones scored 3 goals and Angel Aldaco 2 to lead the way for Albion as Logan Poupore, Landon Graybill and Nate Wehling each netted 1.

Aleks Seefeldt scored 3 goals and Caden Kingsbury 2 to pace Medina as Izzy Anderson, Landon Costich, Colvin Poole, Aidan Papaj and Vinny Gray each scored 1.

Roy-Hart 3, Maryvale 1
Roy-Hart topped Maryvale 3-1 in another non league contest on goals by Jayden Colon, Hayden Hillburn and Michael Fuller.

Albion swept to a tripleheader victory over Batavia Saturday in Niagara Orleans Football Association (NOFA) action.

Beginner Division
Albion 12, Batavia 6

Kenny Almonte rushed for 84 yards and both Albion touchdowns. Gunner Jackson picked up 17 yards and Matthias Ellis 9 for the Albion rushing attack.

Almonte led the defense with 10 tackles, Xavier Weis added 8, Ellis 6, Lexington Pridgen 4, Myles Labarge, Artavion Lewis, Maximiliano Rivera, Jaxon Francis, Gunner Jackson and Drake Neri 2 each.

Mini Division
Albion 19, Batavia 14

Down 14-13, a Grayson Roberts touchdown run gave Albion the lead they would hold on to. Elian Almonte’s third forced fumble of the day on the ensuing Batavia drive sealed the victory.

Almonte rushed for 108 yards and a score. Albion also, had 84 yards and a TD receiving from Roberts, who also added 45 on the ground.

Almonte led the defense with 9 tackles, Jaidyn Richardson 8, Conor Murphy 7, Roberts 5, Hudson Palmer 4 and Patrick Westlund 3. Zeus Vallejo, Mason Cornick, Chase Armer, Zion Richardson, Roman Tisdale, Elijah Cornick and Wyatt Purnell were also all in on tackles.

JV Division
Albion shutout Batavia

Jayce Torres returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown and added a 43 yard TD run. There were also touchdown runs also by Damareon Shine 62 yards, Camden Holt 26 yards, Arthur Lewis 52 yards and Jace DiMatteo 1 yard. DiMatteo was also 4-10 for 50 yards including a 22 yd TD to Holt. Cayden Farrell was 1-1 with a 3 yard TD to Isaiah Hewitt.

Lewis led the defense with 11 tackles and a sack. Shine had 6 tackles, Farrell 4 tackles and a sack. Matthew Colmerero and Holt had 4 each, Kairo Bennett, Edward Hammonds, Harrison Froman 3 each. Parker Gardner, Sebastian Stritzinger, Arkell Lewis, Isaac Button and Jai’kiah Drisdom were also all in on tackles.

Akron downed host Roy-Hart 3-1 this afternoon in the Niagara-Orleans League boys soccer opener for both teams.

Sawyer Ranney scored two goals and Alexander Olaf one for Akron.

Michael Fuller scored the Roy-Hart goal.

Roy-Hart will next host Maryvale in a non league game at 6:45 p.m. Monday.

Cardinal O’Hara spoiled Holley’s return to 11 Man football competition by posting a 33-0 win over the visiting Hawks this afternoon.

Leading 6-0, O’Hara broke the game open in the second quarter as quarterback Josh Guerin completed a pair of touchdown passes covering 66 and 27 yards for a 20-0 half-time lead.

O’Hara led 26-0 at the end of the third quarter.

Holley did reach the O’Hara 30 twice in the first half but could get no farther as a lost fumble ended the first opportunity and an incomplete pass on fourth down stopped the second. The Hawks could not get any closer than the O’Hara 40 in the second half.

Holley, which had played 8 Man football the last seven years, will next host CG Finney at 1 p.m. next Saturday. The Hawks will also host O’Hara in a rematch on September 27.

Wilson spoiled Barker/Lyndonville’s debut in Niagara-Orleans League girls soccer competition by posting a 7-0 win this evening at Barker.

Addison Elia led the way for Wilson with 4 goals as Zoe Beck added 2 and Lilly Gurski 1.
