Opening of new pub in Medina was most popular story in January

The most-viewed story in January on the Orleans Hub was an article about the 8-year effort to create Fitzgibbons Public House in Medina.

The story had 4,282 individual pageviews, making it the most popular story in January.

Orleans Hub had 720,166 pageviews last month, and an average of 7,603 daily unique visitors. That’s up from a 7,112 average in January 2016.

The story on Maddie Williams’ record-breaking day for Medina, when she hit 16 three-pointers and scored 54 points, also was popular with readers with 2,720 pageviews.

The 16 three-pointers on Jan. 30 is a new state record, breaking the 15 set by Courtney Galuski of Cohoes in 2008, according to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association record book.

The 54 points by Williams breaks the old Medina record of 40 set by Liz Pitts in a 51-43 victory over Roy-Hart during the 1989-90 season. It also sets an overall school mark as the boys’ record is 45 set by James Kingsley in a win over Roy-Hart during the 2000-01 season.
