A late eagle helped Medina’s Melanie Green stay at even par before darkness halted play this evening in the second round of the Epson Tour’s Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout Tournament being played at El Dorado, Arkansas.

Green, who posted an even par tround of 72 on Friday, went to 2 over after bogeys on 2, 8, 9 and 10 and birdies on 3 and 5.

However, she rebounded with a clutch eagle on 14 to get back to even par for the tourney.

When darkness halted play Green still had two holes to finish the second round.

The second round will be completed on Sunday morning before the third and final round gets underway.

Lyndonville scored a 4-1 home field victory over Pembroke and Holley earned a 4-1 road win at Attica in Genesee Region League boys soccer games this afternoon.

Lyndonville jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on a pair of goals by Colton Smith, the first off an assist from Jesus Reyes and the second on a breakaway from Chanse Amsdill.

Pembroke briefly cut the lead to 2-1 on a penalty kick goal by Patrick Reeves but Lyndonville got that one right back on a goal by Amir Zimmerman off an assist from Barrett Alexander to put the Tigers up 3-1 at the half.

Lyndonville goalie Brody Hazel then came up with a big save on a Pembroke penalty kick opportunity early in the second half to keep the Tigers up by two.

The Tigers put a lock on the victory when Zimmerman scored again with 10 minutes remaining off an assist from Smith to make the final 4-1.

Lyndonville improves to 4-1 in the league and 5-1 overall.

Holley 4, Attica 1
Cooper Wolf, Avante Walker, Chase Kempa and Blake Coleman took turns scoring the goals for Holley in the 4-1 win at Attica as the Hawks regain the .500 mark at 3-3 in G-R action.

Wolf, Josh Silpoch and Cam Kelley each had an assist.

Holley and host Wheatland-Chili battled to a 1-1 tie in double overtime in a G-R girls soccer game this evening.

Ava Mosier scored Holley’s goal in the second half off an assist from Mia Thom to knot the contest at 1-1.

Lyndonville’s Colton Smith, who scored two goals, works to get around Pembroke defender Tyler Koepf.

Amir Zimmerman, who also scored two goals. battles to keep the ball away from Pembroke’s Reece Starowicz.

Barker/Lyndonville shutout Newfane 3-0 and Roy-Hart edged Akron 1-0 in Niagara-Orleans League girls soccer games this morning.

The Medina at Albion game was postponed due to a referee scheduling mix up.

Alexa Robinson had 2 goals and an assist and Arnie Sturtevant a goal for Barker/Lyndonville which improves to 3-1-1.

Julia Verratti scored the goal for Roy-Hart off an assist from Kaylie Churchill. The Lady Rams are now 3-1.

N-O Golf
Barker boosted its N-O golf record to 5-4 with a 250-275 win over Newfane Friday as JJ Prynn earned medalist honors with a 43.

Improving to 7-0, Kendall downed CG Finney 3-0 in a non league boys soccer game this afternoon.

Pablo Rosario-Reyes scored a goal in each half for Kendall as Jonathan Esposito also had a goal in the second half.

Eagles goalie Jonny Conte made several big saves in the second half to preserve the shutout.

Kendall blanked Alexander 4-0 in a Genesee Region League girls soccer game.

Jersie Drake scored two goals and Hailey Ball and Addison Kludt both netted one as Kendall improves to 5-0 in the league and 7-1 overall. Drake, Stella Kwiatek and Ryleigh Denning each had an assist.

A fourth period goal proved to be just enough to earn Barker a narrow 1-0 win over Medina in a Niagara-Orleans League field hockey game this afternoon.

Madelina Pavlock scored the game winner for Barker with 12 minutes to go in the final quarter.

Barker is now 3-1 and Medina 2-3.

Defending champion Akron improved to 5-0 with a 4-1 win over Newfane as Morgan Tomporowski scored two goals and Madigan Regan and Mackenzie Tomporowski each had one.

Roy-Hart blanked Sacred Heart 6-0 in a non league game as Adella Dukes had 3 goals and 2 assists, Bella Rhinehart 2 goals and an assist and Savannah Newton a goal.

Roy-Hart defeated Akron 232-269 to improve to 9-0 as Blake Stahl led the way with a 44.

Medina’s Melanie Green got off to an even par start today at the Epson Tour’s Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout Tournament being played at El Dorado, Arkansas.

Green, who won the Epson Tour’s Guardian Championship Tournament in Alabama last weekend, had birdies on 7 and 15 to offset bogeys on 3 and 5 to finish with an even par round of 72.

Rainy wather caused play to be suspended later in the day. The tourney is scheduled to continue on Saturday and conclude on Sunday.

Defending champion Wilson downed visiting Medina 4-1 in a key Niagara-Orleans League boys soccer game this evening.

Aidan Neumann scored 3 goals for Wilson while Luke Duffina had the lone Medina tally.

Wilson is now 3-0 and Medina 2-1 in N-O action.

Lyndonville edged host Holley 1-0 in a Genesee Region League game as Colton Smith scored the Tigers goal off an assist from Iziah Rodriquez.

Kendall nipped Byron-Bergen 1-0 in another G-R contest as Brandon Barrett scored the lone goal 10 minutes into the second half off an assist from Pablo Rosario-Reyes.

Kendall is now 4-0 in the league and 6-0 overall.

Barker/Lyndonville downed Akron 4-3 and Roy-Hart bested Albion 2-1 in Niagara-Orleans League girls soccer games today.

Alexa Robinson scored all 4 goals for Barker/Lyndonville in the contest which was tied 1-1 at the half.

Maria Trombley scored both Roy-Hart goals while Kailee Anstey netted the Albion goal.

Barker/Lyndonville is now 2-1-1, Roy-Hart 2-1, Akron 1-1-1 and Albion 0-2-2 in N-O action.
