Building up a 4-0 half-time advantage, Medina went on to defeat host Roy-Hart 5-0 in a Niagara-Orleans League boys soccer game this evening.

The big first half saw Jimmy Dieter score off an assist from Aidan Papaj, Vinny Gray score from Aleks Seefeldt, Papaj from Izzy Anderson and Seefeldt from Bryson Ford.

Luke Duffina scored the Mustangs lone second half goal off an assist from Seefeldt.

River Jones earned the shutout in goal.

The Mustangs are now 5-1 in N-O action and the Rams  0-7.

N-O Girls Soccer
Wilson (7-0) defeated Barker/Lyndonville (4-2-2) 4-0 and Roy-Hart (5-1-1) downed Medina (0-6) 9-0 in N-O girls soccer games this evening.

Maria Trombley scored 3 goals and Kaylie Churchill 2 for Roy-Hart as Ruth Walker, Kennedy Boyle, Hannah Verratti and Josephine Silsby each netted one.

A lone early goal proved to be just enough as Kendall nipped rival Holley 1-0 in a Genesee Region League boys soccer game this evening at Kendall.

Pablo Rosario-Reyes scored the game’s lone goal for Kendall 13 minutes into the first half off an assist from Brandon Barrett.

Jonny Conte earned the shutout in goal for the Eagles.

Kendall is now 9-0 in the league and 12-0 overall while Holley is 4-4 and 5-5 overall.

Albion, Medina and Barker all scored wins in Niagara-Orleans League boys cross-country meets this afternoon.

Albion improved to 5-1 by defeating Akron 28-29 and Newfane 22-38.

Akron’s Quinn O’Malley won the race while Tristian Tilbe finished third for Albion.

Going to 2-2, Medina downed Roy-Hart 24-31 as the Mustangs duo of Cole Hughes and Roman Maksimchuk finished 1-2.

Barker stayed unbeaten at 4-0 by besting Wilson 15-50 as Gabe Nestoros was the individual winner for the Bulldogs.

In the girls meets, Newfane defeated Albion 15-50 and Akron 23-38; Akron topped Albion 15-50; Wilson edged Barker 9-12 and Roy-Hart topped Medina 18-42 to improve to 4-0.

Taylor Alvord and Julia Rohde finished 1-2 for Roy-Hart while Eden Hillman won for Newfane as did Mirabelle Strong for Barker.

Barker downed Medina 252-271 this afternoon to close out the N-O golf season.

JJ Prynn took medalist honors with a 42 for Barker as Hudson Prynn added a 47 and Lucas Nestoros a 48.

Cam Fike shot 44 and Tyler Draper 46 for Medina.

Barker finishes the season at 7-5 and Medina at 6-6.

Completing a home and home season series sweep in a span of only three days, Akron downed host Albion 2-0 in a Niagara-Orleans League boys soccer game this evening.

Akron, which also posted a 4-0 home field win over Albion on Saturday, improves to 3-3 while the Purple Eagles slips to 1-4-1.

Evan Kabingera scored both Akron goals in the first five minutes.

Improving to 10-1 overall, Kendall downed CG Finney 3-0 in a non league girls soccer game this afternoon.

Ryleigh Denning had two goals and Sophia Picardo a goal and an assist for the Lady Eagles.

Kendall next hosts Wheatland-Chili in a Genesee Region League game at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Defending champion Akron and Barker both scored wins this afternoon to remain 1-2 in the Niagara-Orleans League field hockey title race.

Akron stayed undefeated at 6-0 with a 2-0 win over visiting Medina which slips to 3-4 as Brooklyn Gerstung scored both goals.

Barker improved to 5-1 with a 4-2 win over Wilson which is now 2-5.

Madelina Pavlock scored two goals for Barker as Ella Gancasz and Sophia Gerhardt each had one.

Ruby Narehood and Brynn Lepsch scored the goals for Wilson.

In the other N-O game, Roy-Hart avenged an early season 3-2 loss by defeating host Kenmore 7-4 this evening.

Brooke Zglinicki had three goals, Adella Dukes two and Savannah Newton and Violette Streckewald one each for the Lady Rams.

Both teams are now 3-3 in N-O action.

Albion bested Akron 231-238 this afternoon to close out the Niagara-Orleans League golf season with a 10-2 record.

Drew Pritchard had a 42 to lead Albion as Gavin Boyce shot 46, Luke Bedford 47 and Owen Spencer and Nate Gibson 48.

Brodie Hill took medalist honors with a 42 for Akron which finishes the season at 4-8.

Albion scored a three game sweep over Oakfield-Alabama/Elba in Niagara Orleans Football Association (NOFA) action Saturday.

Beginner Division

Five different Eagles scored on the ground. Xavier Weis led the attack with 114 yards and 2 touchdowns, Matthias Ellis had 68 yards and 2 TDs. Kenny Almonte had 60 yards and a score. Gunner Jackson added 56 yards and a score. Artavion Lewis also added a 16 yard TD. Jaxon Francis picked up 10 yards, Myles Labarge 9 and Drake Neri 6 yards.

Almonte led the defense with 13 tackles, Weis had 11, Ellis and Lewis 6 each. Francis added 5 tackles, Neri Maximiliano Rivera and James Mahoney had 3 each. Lexington Pridgen and Mason Rodden were in on tackles as well.

Mini Division
Albion 40, OAE 6
The Mini Eagles also had 5 different players score on the ground. Jaidyn Harper led the rushing attack with 89 yards and 2 scores, Moses Taylor chipped in with 73 yards and a score. Patrick Westlund ran for 28 yards, Grayson Roberts 13 yards, Conor Murphy 10 yards and all added a touchdown. Elijah Cornick ran for 25 yards, Hudson Palmer ran for 20 and also added 10 receiving.

Taylor led the defense with 12 tackles, Harper 11, Murphy 8, Zeus Vallejo 7, Westlund 6, Xavier Richardson 5 and Wyatt Purnell 4. Roberts, Mason Cornick and Romam Tisdale added 3 each.

JV Division
Albion 42, OAE 0
Five TD passes help pace the JV Eagles offense. Damareon Shine and Kayden Brigham each caught a pair from Jace DiMatteo. Arthur Lewis III caught one from Cayden Farrell. Shine also had a 21 yard TD run. Camden Holt added 62 yards rushing, Farrell 37, Jayce Torres 32, Lewis 26, Jai’Kaih Drisdom 23, Owen Beecher 20.

Lewis led the defense with 8 tackles, Farrell 6, Shine 5, Kairo Bennett 4, Roman Allport 4 and Harrison Froman 3. Matthew Colmerero, Torres, Edward Hammonds, Kaydence Russaw, Parker Gardner, Dominic Westlund and Isaac Button were each in on tackles. Allport also added a interception.

Holley split with visiting Canisteo-Greenwood this evening in a Homecoming soccer doubleheader.

In the opener, the Holley boys posted a 1-0 overtime win on a goal by Tarek Garrett assisted by Cam Mosier.

Dylan Warner earned the shutout in goal for the Hawks which improve to 5-4.

Canisteo-Greenwood gained a split on the evening by nipping Holley 1-0 in the girls’ contest.

The Lady Hawks are now 5-4-1.
