Youthful Lady Bulldogs eye rebound season

Looking to rebound from last year’s 1-11 league campaign, Barker’s underclassmen dominated squad will begin prepping for the Niagara-Orleans basketball season with a non league game at Alexander on Monday.
Summer Duchow, Elizabeth Samson and Rachel Samson are the only seniors on the otherwise youthful Lady Bulldogs squad. Juniors Kaylee Stoll and Haley Dodge provide the only other real varsity experience.
“We’re young but we’re going to be scrappy, very scrappy,” said new Coach Jim Harris.
The Lady Bulldogs roster also includes juniors Qiessa Alwani, Peyton Bradley, Mallory Fiacco, Briley Huwyler, Jordyn Kinne along with freshmen Elise Monaco, Alina Riches and Arnie Sturtevant.
The Lady Bulldogs graduation losses included Kiera Dalton, Rachel Sutter, Cole Carnes, Lillia Peace, Michayla Greene and Addison Szafranski.
Barker will also host Kenmore East in a non league game on Dec. 9 before opening the N-O season at home on Dec. 13 against Akron.
