The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a winter weather advisory from 10 tonight through 7 p.m. on Wednesday for Orleans, Niagara and Monroe counties.

Lake effect snow is expected with snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches expected in the most persistent lake snows. The greatest amounts will be near the Lake Ontario shoreline, north of Route 104.

“Plan on slippery road conditions,” the Weather Service said. “The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Also, it will be bitterly cold with wind chills as low as 10 below.”
