The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a winter weather advisory from 5 p.m. today to 9 a.m. Friday for Orleans and Niagara counties with 4 to 7 inches of snow in the forecast.
There also will be ice accumulations of one tenth to two tenths of inch, with winds gusting as high as 40 miles per hour, the Weather Service said.
“Travel will be very difficult,” the Weather Service said. “The combination of ice, snow and rapidly falling temperatures will result in icy and snow covered roads. Snow will reduce visibility tonight. The snow will taper off early Friday morning, but roads may remain very slippery through the morning commute.”
A flood watch also remains in effect through 7 p.m. on Friday. With flooding caused by runoff from widespread rain and rapid snowmelt.
