Winter teams earn Scholar-Athlete honors

Orleans County’s five high schools have a total of sixteen Winter sports season varsity teams that have earned New York State Public High School Athletic Scholarships by compiling a composite grade point average of at least 90.

Albion and Medina lead the way with four honored teams each.

Albion’s honored teams include the Boys and Girls Swimming, Girls Basketball and Unified Bowling.

Medina’s honorees include the Wrestling, Girls Basketball, Boys Swimming and Girls Swimming teams.

Lyndonville has qualified the Boys and Girls Basketball and Wrestling teams.

Kendall has the Boys and Girls Basketball and Cheerleading teams.

Holley has the Girls Basketball and Cheerleading teams.

Akron, Newfane and Wilson each have five honored teams, Barker three (Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball and Cheerleading) and Roy-Hart two (Girls Basketball and Girls Swimming). Akron’s teams include Boys and Girls Basketball, Boys and Girls Swimming and Cheerleading. Newfane’s include Girls Basketball, Boys and Girls Swimming, Cheerleading and Unified Bowling. Wilson’s teams include Boys and Girls Basketball, Boys Wrestling, Girls Wrestling and Cheerleading.
