The snow on the Erie Canal towpath was packed down from snowmobilers last week, allowing fairly solid footing for walkers and runners. This photo is just west of the Brown Street bridge in Albion.

The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a winter storm watch for Orleans County and all of Western New York from Monday morning through Tuesday afternoon.

More than 9 inches of snow is possible with the heaviest snow expected Monday night and Tuesday morning.

“Travel could be very difficult at times with snow-covered roads,” the Weather Service said. “The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute on Monday and the morning commute on Tuesday.”
