A wind advisory is in effect for Orleans County until 8 p.m. today, according to the National Weather Service in Buffalo.

The wind advisory also includes Niagara, Monroe, Genesee and northern Erie counties.

There are southwest winds at 20 to 30 miles per hour with gusts of 45 to 50 mph.

“Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects,” the Weather Service said. “Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.”
