There is a wind advisory in effect today from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Orleans County and much of Western New York.

There will be westerly winds from 20 to 30 miles per hour with gusts up to 45 to 50 mph expected.

The National Weather Service in Buffalo said the gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
