Wind advisory in effect after 4 p.m. today

Chilly today but the highs will be in 60s most of week

A wind advisory has been issued for Orleans County from 4 p.m. today until 1 a.m. tonight.

The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued the advisory for Niagara, Orleans, Monroe, Wayne, northern Cayuga, Oswego, Jefferson, Erie, Genesee, Wyoming, Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties.

There will be westerly winds 30 to 40 miles per hour with gusts up to 45 to 50 mph expected, the Weather Service said.

Today is forecast for a high of 39 degrees, followed by a high near 45 on Tuesday.

Then the high temperatures will be in the 60s with 62 on Wednesday, 63 on Thursday, 64 on Friday, 66 on Saturday and 68 on Sunday.
