Win keeps Lady Raiders in N-O title chase
Staying in the thick of the title chase, Barker downed Roy-Hart 7-3 in a Niagara-Orleans League softball game this afternoon.
Improving to 9-2, Barker will close out the N-O campaign with a key meeting against front-running Akron (9-1) on Friday needing a win to claim at least a share of the league title. Akron will then close out the N-O season against Wilson on Saturday.
Mia Herman had 3 hits, including a pair of doubles, to lead the Barker attack as Kaylee Stoll and Peyton Bradley both had 2 hits.
In the circle, Bradley and Mady Flint combined to hurl a 4 hitter with 14 strikeouts.
Maria Peracciny had 2 hits, including a double, for Roy-Hart which finishes the N-O season at 7-5.
Wilson 14, Medina 2
Wilson erupted for 7 runs in the fourth inning and 6 more in the fifth to key a 14-2 win over Medina at Vets Park.
Ava Mielke had 2 doubles for Wilson and Alayna Smith a triple for Medina.
Medina finishes the N-O season at 2-10. Wilson is now 7-3.
Notre Dame 9, Lyndonville 6
A trio of three run scoring innings earned Notre Dame a 9-6 win over Lyndonville in a Genesee Region League game.
Brianna Krisher had 2 hits, including a triple, for Lyndonville which had a total of only 5 hits.
Lyndonville is now 8-3 in the league.
In other G-R action, Byron-Bergen defeated Kendall 7-1 and Alexander downed Holley 19-7. Layne Walker and Tia Hoffarth both had 2 hits for Holley.
