Win advances Rotary to Midget playoff finals
Rotary downed Carlton 10-3 this evening to gain a berth in the Albion Midget League 12U Division playoff championship game.
Rotary will face Sandstone in the title contest which will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Sandstone. The game was originally scheduled for Saturday but a forecast of rain has caused the contest to be postponed until Sunday.
Stryker Sanders had 4 hits, Dennis Mathes a double and triple and Liam Leader and Noah Harrison doubles to lead the offense for Rotary.
Leader had a two-run double in the first inning and Mathes a two-run double to highlight a four run fourth inning uprising.
Harrison went the distance on the mound allowing only one hit and striking out 15.
In the previous round of the playoffs Rotary downed Barre/Elba 15-2 as Harrison had a home run.
