Grabbing sole possession of first place, Wilson scored a 3-1 victory over Medina in a key Niagara-Orleans League boys soccer game at Vets Park this evening.
The teams entered the game deadlocked for first place at 6-0-1.
Wilson grabbed a 1-0 lead with 6 minutes to go in the first half on a goal by Keegan Herrmann.
Medina answered right back just over a minute later as Cole Callard knotted the score with a penalty kick goal.
However, the Mustangs could not find the net again.
The Lakemen regained the lead just four minutes into the second half on a goal by Herrmann.
Max Harmon later added the clincher for the Lakemen with five minutes remaining.
With two games remaining on the N-O schedule Wilson is now 7-0-1 and Medina 6-1-1.
The Lakemen have league games remaining against Albion and Akron next week while the Mustangs will face Roy-Hart and Albion.
Before that Medina will host Park in a non league game at noon on Saturday at Vets Park.
