Wilson tops Medina to earn share of N-O title
Wilson claimed a share of the Niagara-Orleans girls basketball championship by downing visiting Medina 59-22 in the league finale this evening.
Wilson finishes in a tie with rival Newfane for the title at 10-2.
The N-O championship is the seventh in a row and the 15th in the last 16 years for Wilson. Overall, the Lakewomen have captured the N-O crown 20 times all since 2000.
The league title is the first for Newfane since 2018 and the 18th over all for the Lady Panthers. Newfane’s title years include the first three years of the N-O’s existence 1975, 1976 and 1977.
It is the first time that Wilson and Newfane have shared the title.
Roman Simpson scored 11 and Emily Phillips 10 to lead Wilson.
Medina’s Alexa Demmer took game high honors with 16.
Roy-Hart 61, Barker 35
Snapping a three game losing streak, Roy-Hart downed Barker 61-35.
Adella Dukes scored 15 and Millie Owens 12 to lead the Lady Rams as Kylie McOmber and Abby Fox both had 9.
Elise Monaco led Barker with a game high 17.
