Wilson tops Medina in N-O field hockey

A quick three goal scoring burst late in the first half powered Wilson to a 5-1 victory over Medina this afternoon at Vets Park in a Niagara-Orleans League field hockey game.
A goal by Michelle Myers with 11 minutes to go in the opening half which snapped a scoreless deadlock ignited the decisive uprising.
Rachael Cobo followed up with two goals over the next seven minutes to quickly boost the Lakewomen’s advantage to 3-0.
Medina did get a goal in the final minute of the half by Dominique Hughes, off an assist from Mallori Wienke, but the Mustangs could get no closer.
Wilson put a lock on the victory on a pair of second half goals by Myers, the first on a penalty stroke.
Wilson improves to 2-4 and Medina slips to 0-5.
N-O Golf
Newfane improved to 8-5 by defeating Roy-Hart 248-273 this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League golf match.
Zach LaJoie took medalist honors with a 45 for Newfane which also got rounds of 49 from Paul Tilyou, Aiden Herlen and Connor Duncan.
Faye Conley had a 47 for Roy-Hart.
