Wilson spikers post win over Medina

Improving to 5-1, Wilson scored a 25-11, 25-23, 25-9 victory over host Medina this evening in a Niagara-Orleans League volleyball march.

Setting the tone at the outset, Wilson got runs of service points from five  different players in the opening set including Samantha Herlan (points 2-6), Isabel Dinse (7-10), Anna Stevenson (12-14), Tori Pawlak (11-19) and Anna Frerichs (21-23) as Madelyn Seeley served up an ace for the decisive 25th point.

Jordan Lugo had 4 kills and 2 aces, Devin Griffin 2 aces and 1 kill and Evie Schultz 5 assists and 1 kill on the evening for Medina which slips to 1-5.

The Mustangs next visit Newfane on Wednesday.

In the only other N-O match undefeated defending champion Akron (6-0) downed Newfane (1-5) 25-15, 25-13, 25-21.

Akron was led by Ella Hill with 9 kills and 2 aces, Elsie Logan 13 assists, 6 aces and 4 kills and Jayni Sundown 5 kills and 3 aces.
