Wilson matmen rally to down Medina

Taking six of the last seven bouts, Wilson rallied to down host Medina 42-21 in a Niagara-Orleans League wrestling match this evening.

Trailing 17-12, Wilson used the combination of pins by Hamza Merrick (285) and Roman Zarbo (101) along with decision wins by Cristofano Interisano (170) and Dominic Lopez (215) and a forfeit to rally for the victory.

Tyler Goff-Brown (128) also registered a pin for the Lakemen early in the match.

The Mustangs got pins from Luke Duffina (131) in 28 seconds and Austin Seefeldt (152) in 3:10 along with a technical fall win by Reece Senske (124) and a decision win by Brody Fry (190).

Wilson is now 3-1 and Medina 0-4 in N-O action.

Medina’s Ethan Carson battles with Wilson’s Hamza Merrick in the 285 lb. bout.

Roy-Hart/Barker 50, Akron 20
Billy Jaques, Ely Brownlee, Joey Jopp and Luke Fay all notched pins for Roy-Hart/Barker in the 50-20 win over Akron. Ronan Klug added a technical fall win and Max Hickman a decision win.

Roy-Hart/Barker is now 2-1 and Akron 2-2.

Newfane 43, Albion 26
Defending champion Newfane downed Albion 43-26 as Aidan Gillings (152), Colin Doxey (170) and Alexa Doxey (138) all had pins and Rian Czaja (116) and Ryley Mahoney (131) technical fall wins.

Albion got pins from Noah Marat (160), Stryker Sanders (108) and Alakai Colmenero (124) along with major decision wins by Jaxon Lynch (145) and Justin Mengs (101).

Newfane is now 3-0 and Albion 1-3.
