Wilson girls top Albion in N-O opener
Defending champion Wilson downed visiting Albion 55-30 this evening in the Niagara-Orleans League girls basketball season opener.
Kayla Neumann had 16 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds and 4 steals; Rachel Senek 10 points, 8 steals and 4 rebounds and Shea Munnikhuysen 10 rebounds, 8 points and 6 steals to lead the way for Wilson.
Caitlynn Snook scored 11 points, Sierra Newton 7 and Chanyce Powell 5 for Albion which trailed 20-11 at the half.
Newfane 56, Medina 32
Building up a 30-14 half-time advantage, Newfane went on to defeat visiting Medina 56-32 as Emily Foltz scored 21, Katie Kneeland 10 and Paige Emborsky and Olivia Littman 9 each. Foltz also had 10 steals.
Je’ne Brown scored 15 for Medina.
Barker 46, Akron 37
Caitlyn Mason scored 18, Lindsey Williams 11 and Lydia Dewart 7 to lead Barker past Akron 46-37.
Dewart hit a three to close the first half and give Barker a 21-18 lead.
CSAT 32, Roy-Hart 23
Unable to keep the momentum from a 7-0 first quarter lead, Roy-Hart dropped a 32-23 decision to CSAT.
Emma Lindke scored 10 and Reilly Albee 8 for Roy-Hart.
Notre Dame 54, Lyndonville 23
Rebecca Krenzer scored 25 and Calli McCaulley 15 to lead Notre Dame past host Lyndonville 54-23 in a Genesee Region League contest.
Makenzie Muck scored 8, Jasmine Plummer 6 and Aubrey Lewis 4 for Lyndonville which trailed 36-14 at the half.
