Wilson girls retain Class B2 title

Breaking away from an 8-8 deadlock, Wilson used a 15-4 second period scoring burst to key a 46-20 victory over Niagara-Orleans League foe Akron at Buffalo State College this evening to win the Section VI Class B2 championship for the second year in a row and the fourth time in the last five years.

Emily Lasher and Allie Bubar each scored 18 points to set the pace for Wilson which led 23-12 at the half and 32-17 after three-quarters.

Wilson will now face Tonawanda at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Buffalo State for the Section VI Class B berth in the state playoffs. Tonwanada romped past Bennett 62-31 for the B1 title.
