Wilson girls nip Albion; Medina trims R-H

Wilson took over sole possession of first place by nipping host Albion 52-50 in a key Niagara-Orleans League girls basketball clash of unbeatens this evening.

Wilson improves to 5-0 in N-O action while Albion slips to 3-1.

Anna Frerichs scored 12, Meg Musall 9 and Sarah Lewis 7 to set the pace for Wilson which led 27-20 at the half and 40-35 at the three-quarter mark.

Brylie Hapeman scored 15 and Paige Derisley and Lexi Wolck 10 each for Albion. Derisley hit a late basket to pull Albion to within one at 51-50 but the Purple Eagles could not pull even.

Medina 44, Roy-Hart 39
Camri King scored 13, Tyesha Robinson 12, Kharise Johnson 11 and Maddie Williams 6 to spark Medina which improved to 3-2 in N-O action.

Shelby Wolf scored 15, Maddie Fry 10 and Meghan Washington and Mallory Steiner 6 each for Roy-Hart which slips to 0-4.

Up 17-13 at the half, Medina increased its advantage to 31-23 at the three-quarter mark as King and Johnson both scored 6 in the third period.

Robinson then tallied 8 in the final stanza to help lock up the win for the Mustangs.

In the other N-O game, Akron (2-2) defeated Newfane (1-2) 60-40.
