Wilson downs Lyndonville wrestlers
Wilson downed host Lyndonville 45-27 in a non league wrestling match Thursday evening.
Thomas Mulholland (145), David Gurski (152), Benjamin Wortkoetter (172), Tyler Duerr (189) and Hamza Merrick (285) all registered pins and Parker Selbert (132) had a decision win for the Lakemen.
Christian Garver (126). Alex Farrell (138) and James Giarla (215) all notched pins and Sebastian Temich (160) had a decision win for the Tigers.
Akron swimmers sweep Newfane
Akron scored a doubleheader victory over Newfane in a Niagara-Orleans League swim meet Thursday. The TigerSharks won the boys’ meet 89-75 and the girls’ competition 93-71.
Dawson Stone was a double winner for the Akron boys in the 50 Freestyle and 100 Butterfly.
The Newfane boys had Daenon Kopp double in the 200 Free and 500 Free, Noah Kneeland in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Breaststroke and Elijah Thompson in the 100 Free and 100 Backstroke.
The Akron girls were led by a quartet of individual event double winners as Megan Gates took the 200 Free and 100 Free, Audrey Garverick the IM and Backstroke, Kaila Szczygielski the 50 Free and 500 Free and Mayah Harris the Butterfly and Breaststroke.
