Will North uses fast start to top Medina; Albion and Roy-Hart bow in non league tests

Jumping out to a 28-11 half-time advantage, Williamsville North went on to defeat Medina 47-35 this evening in the Cataract Classic at Niagara Falls High School.

Jalin Cooper paced Medina with 18 points, 16 of which came in the second half.

Brendan Luthart added 5, Tryellis Atkins and Johnny Salone 4 and Mason Lewis and Izaiah Rhim 2 in what was the season opener for the Mustangs.

Medina next visits Tapestry High of Buffalo on Tuesday in another non league game.

Pembroke 52, Albion 31

Racing out to a 26-3 half-time lead, host Pembroke went on to defeat Albion 52-31 in a non league game.

Miano Reid and Ryan Cansdale both scored 13 and Zach Von Kramer 11 to lead the Dragons.

Kory Reynolds and Liam Ward both scored 10 for Albion. Reynolds also grabbed off 20 rebounds.

Gowanda 74, Roy-Hart 44

Jacob Bruning scored 14 and Cam Meadows 11 for Roy-Hart in a 74-44 non league season opening loss at Gowanda which led by 20 at the half.
