A quick first inning scoring burst ignited Depew to a 10-0 victory over Roy-Hart in the Section VI Class B championship state qualifier game this afternoon at Sal Maglie Stadium in Niagara Falls.
Two-run singles by Anthony Weber and Chris Kanick gave Depew the quick 4-0 first inning lead. Two walks and a hit batter loaded the bases to set up the opportunity.

The Wildcats upped the advantage to 7-0 in the third inning on an RBI single by Daniel Reese and a two-run single by Kanick.
Eric Woodley went the distance on the mound for Depew scattering 5 hits and striking out 7.
Roy-Hart did get two runners aboard with just one out in the top of the first inning on a single by Brayden Hy and a walk to Thomas Russo. However, Woodley quickly got out of trouble on a fly out to left field and a strikeout.
Russo doubled with two out in the third inning but could not advance as Depew rightfielder Jacob Scibetta made a great diving catch of a line drive to end the inning.
Roy-Hart’s last scoring threat came in the sixth as a double by Dawson Draper, a walk and a single by Rem Albee loaded the bases with just one out. Again the Wildcats defense rose to the challenge though by turning a timely inning ending double play triggered by Kanicki at second base.
Depew, which advanced to the Class B finale by downing Iroquois 3-1 in the B1 title contest, now advances to next Saturday’s Far West Regional with a 22-1 record. The Wildcats will face the Section V Class B winner either Palmyra-Macedon or Penn Yann.
Roy-Hart, which downed Fredonia 5-1 to win the Class B2 title and advance to the state qualifier contest, finishes the season with a 19-5 record.
