Wildcats rally to down Purple Eagles

Depew rallied for two unanswered second half touchdowns to best host Albion 22-14 this evening in a B East Division contest.

Trailing 14-8 at the half, Depew used a pair of 3 yard touchdown runs by Austin Riley, one in the third quarter and the other in the fourth, to rally for the victory.

Albion, which was celebrating Homecoming, grabbed the 14-8 halftime advantage as Tommy Mattison ran 56 yards for one touchdown in the first quarter and 18 yards for another TD in the second quarter. Matt Kovaleski had the two point conversion run after the first tally. Mattison, who had a total of 172 yards rushing, had runs of 31 and 11 yards to key the second drive.

Jaquess Harrison had two interceptions for the Albion defense in the first half. Meach Gardner led the defense in tackles with 12.

Albion, which is now 1-2 in the division and 1-3 overall, next visits Lackawanna next Friday.

Depew, which is also 1-2, 1-3, next hosts Medina/Lyndonville.
Alden 44, Barker/Roy-Hart 24
Alden erupted for 30 unanswered points in the second half to rally for a 44-24 victory over Barker/Roy-Hart in a B East Division game at Middleport.

Trailing 24-14 at the half, Alden used touchdown pass plays from quarterback Bryan Cybulski of 64 yards to Christian Snell and 47 yards to Josh Chester along with an interception return for a TD by Riley Pastuszynski to key the comeback.

Barker/Roy-Hart, which was celebrating Homecoming, built up the half-time lead on touchdown runs of 2 and 4 yards by Eddie Wasnock and of 75 yards by Malik Smith. Eric Fitch added a pair of two-point conversion runs and Jacob Bruning had a two-point conversion pass to Wasnock.

Trevor Meal had 9 tackles and Matt Maines 6 for the Barker/Roy-Hart defuse.

Alden is now 3-1 in the division and Barker/Roy-Hart 0-3, 1-3 overall.
