Undefeated (12-0) regular season champion White Birch defeated Erin Townsend Photography 16-6 Saturday to capture the Medina Women’s Softball League ‘B’ Division playoff title.

Avenging an earlier round loss, White Birch had a big 6 run second inning to take a 7-2 lead over Townsend. Doubles by Katt Battaglia and Alex Harling followed by a triple by Tiff Cree highlighted that decisive uprising.

White Birch later put a lock on the win and the title as Emily Nenni hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning and Stormi Kruger led off the sixth with a homer.

The White Birch defense also came up big blanking Townsend in the second, third and fourth innings.

Townsend did have a 4 run fifth inning.

White Birch opened the playoffs by downing Mariachi, then suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of Townsend but rebounded to defeat Hojacks to gain a berth in the finals.

Townsend advanced to the title round by scoring consecutive victories over Orchard Manor, Hojacks and White Birch.
