The White Birch defense also came up big blanking Townsend in the second, third and fourth innings.
Townsend did have a 4 run fifth inning.
White Birch opened the playoffs by downing Mariachi, then suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of Townsend but rebounded to defeat Hojacks to gain a berth in the finals.
Townsend advanced to the title round by scoring consecutive victories over Orchard Manor, Hojacks and White Birch.
