When the ‘Y’ won the Summer Bash Tourney
Contributed Photo – Compiling a perfect 4-0 record, the Medina YMCA team captured top honors at the 1988 Summer Bash Baseball Tournament. The ‘Y’, whose lineup included players from Medina and Lyndonville, defeated Boston, N.Y. 11-1 in the championship game. In the preliminary rounds the ‘Y’ downed Chili 16-6, Youngstown 7-6 and St. Catherines, Ontario 4-1. The Medina ‘Y’s lineup included, in front, Mason Moore, Jim Snyder, Russ Beyer, Casey Ferguson, Wayne Meland, Ken Snyder and Randy Castricone. In the back row are Chris Creasey, Carl Creasey, Jody Sargent, Chris Hayes, Richie Beyer, Bruce Blanchard, Chris Bacon and Todd Riemer.
