W-C girls down Lyndonville

Taking charge with a big third quarter scoring surge, Wheatland-Chili went on to defeat host Lyndonville 42-30 this evening in a Genesee Region League game.

Leading by a narrow two point, 19-17, margin at the half, W-C erupted for an 18-4 third burst scoring surge to open up a commanding 37-21 advantage heading into the final period.

Brianna Walker scored 15 and Taylor Clar 14 to spark the attack for W-C.

Morgan Hungerford scored 10 to lead Lyndonville. Rebekah Hoffee added 7, Mackenzie Muck 6, Aubrey Lewis 4, Leann Balcerzak 2 and Jasmine Plummer 1 for the Lady Tigers.

Hungerford scored 8 and Hoffee 5, including a three, in the opening period to spark Lyndonville out to a 13-8 lead.

However, W-C answered with an 11-4 second period spurt to rally into a 19-17 half-time advantage before breaking the contest open in the third period.

Lyndonville is now 0-2 in the league and 1-3 overall. The Lady Tigers next host Oakfield-Alabama on Monday.
