Waterport man, 39, dies in rollover crash this morning
GAINES – A Waterport man died in a one-car rollover accident this morning on Eagle Harbor Road.
Brian Arnett, 39, was travelling southbound in a 2011 Toyota Rav4 on Eagle Harbor Road and struck a deer. The vehicle travelled off the west side of the road and into a ditch. The Rav4 struck a guy wire and overturned several times. Arnett, the sole occupant, was ejected out of the vehicle, said Michael Mele, chief deputy for the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office.
The Orleans County 911 dispatch ceneter was called at 4:55 a.m. by passerby, who reported the vehicle rollover.
Arnett was pronounced dead at the scene by Orleans County Coroner Rocco Sidari.
The accident is still under investigation. Speed is being looked at as a possible contributing factor in the crash, Mele said.
