Warsaw cagers take two from Albion
Warsaw swept to a doubleheader victory over visitng Albion in non league basketball action today.
The Tigers first won the girls’ game 49-47 and then the boys’ contest 60-55.
The Albion girls grabbed a 26-19 half-time advantage but Warsaw answered with a 15-6 third period scoring edge to rally into a 34-33 lead heading into the final period and the Purple Eagles could not regain the lead.
Julia Knight scored 13 and Cami London and Melia Prince both had 12 to lead the way for Albion.
In the boys contest, Warsaw likewise used a 14-6 third period scoring edge to increase its one point, 27-26, half-time lead into a 9 point, 41-32, advantage heading into the final period.
Albion rallied back to within four twice in the last two and a half minutes, first at 48-44 on a three by Nate Gibson, and then at 53-49 on a three by Isaiah Riley and a basket by Wesley Olles but the Purple Eagles could get no closer.
Tyler Cody and Kyle Radder each scored 13 and Olles 10 to lead the Purple Eagles.

Notre Dame 41, Holley 19
Jumping out to an 18-5 first quarter lead, Notre Dame went on to down visiting Holley 41-19 in a Genesee Region League girls basketball game this evening.
Sofia Falleti poured in a game high 28 points to lead the Irish.
Alivia Wolf had 8 points, Zoey Wolf 11 rebounds and Hanna Ostrom 8 rebounds for Holley.
