Making a lone early goal stand up, the No. 3 seeded United Warriors nipped the No. 2 Medina Mustangs FC 1-0 in the semifinals of the Buffalo District Soccer League 3rd Division playoffs Sunday evening at Vets Park.

The Warriors scored the lone goal 10 minutes into the first half to advance to next Sunday’s championship game against the top seeded Buffalo Cosmos which downed the No. 4 Buffalo Brighten Stars 2-0 in the other semi.

The Mustangs battled back in the second half but couldn’t capitalize on several good scoring opportunities.
