Front-running Victor edged past the host Albion Raptors 3-2 Sunday evening in a Rochester District Youth Soccer League U17 Division game.

Albion jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on a goal by Abby Scanlan and then got a big save from goalie Brynn Walczak to keep the lead.

Victor finally got on the scoreboard in the final five minutes of the opening half.   Keeping the momentum, Victor then scored the first two goals of the second half to take the lead for good at 3-1.

Albion did battle back to within one as Scanlan scored off an assist from Aly Knaak. The Raptors then just missed on scoring the equalizer when a shot by Scanlan banged off the post.

Victor improves to 6-2-1 while Albion takes a 2-2 record into Thursday’s 6:30 p.m. game at the Cobras.
