Vets Park is getting greener
Photos by Mike Wertman – Work is progressing rapidly on the installation of the new artificial turf surface at Medina’s Veterans Memorial Park. Here turf sections on the football portion of the field are being sewn together. There will be no more dirt base cutouts, home plate or pitching areas as the entire field will be turfed. The softball infield of terracotta colored turf is shown here in the background.
The terracotta and green turfed baseball infield has been installed. The foreground area shows the shock pad layer which is installed before the turf goes on.
