Work is now well underway to construct dugouts for both the baseball and softball diamonds at Vets Park. Funding for the project has been made possible by donations from the Parents Athletic Club and the late George Hagerman. Workers are shown here putting up the concrete block walls for one of the dugouts at the baseball end of the park. Shown from left are Marty Bryant, Liam Gilmartin and Joe Penkszyk from Concreations. In addition to the new dugouts the donations will also enable the Vets Park baseball and softball diamonds to benefit next spring from the use of new portable outfield fences. Those portable fences will allow for a more uniform outfield distances for both the baseball and softball diamonds.
