BATAVIA – State Assemblyman Steve Hawley and about 100 veterans and their family members left this morning from Batavia for the 10th Annual Patriot Trip to Washington D.C.

Hawley is pictured with three veterans from Orleans County: Jim Freas, Earl Schmidt (director of Veterans Services in Orleans County), and David Kusmierczak (in back).

The annual trip is a chance for veterans in Hawley’s district to tour some of the historical landmarks in the nation’s capitol. The trip will include stops at the WWII, Gettysburg, Korean War, Vietnam, Iwo Jima, Air Force and September 11th memorials as well as a host of other famous sites and monuments in and around the Washington D.C. area.
