BARKER – Four returning starters provide a strong nucleus for Barker as the Raiders look to improve upon last year’s 6-8 Niagara-Orleans League record.

Senior Jacob Haight, who earned first team N-O All-League honors for the second year in a row, heads that veteran quartet which also includes seniors Bryce Moeller and Mitch Luckman and junior Christopher Sweeney.

Haight scored 425 points (20.2 average) and grabbed off 262 rebounds a year ago. Luckman, who earned second team All-League honors, scored 234 points (11.2 ave.) and pulled down 96 rebounds. Sweeney earned All-League honorable mention.

“We have some size, some speed and some experience,” said Coach Dave Carson. “We have some high expectations. The key is to keep them healthy, to play together and have everyone know their roles.”

The Barker roster also includes seniors Hayden Gooding, Jarid Worthington and Tyler Dent along with juniors Sean Benoit, Thomas Callaghan, Tanner Gregorie, Joshua Mead and Tristan Payne.

The Raider are slated to open the season with a non league game at Kendall Dec. 3 and then host Elba on Dec. 10 before opening N-O competition at Newfane on Dec. 13.
