Returning starters at eight of nine positions, the Lyndonville softball team is taking aim at defending its Genesee Region League Division II title and making a strong run in the sectional playoffs.

“Everyone is returning but one starter so we are looking to do well this year,” said Coach Joe Moore whose Lady Tigers went 13-1 in the league and 15-3 overall last spring. “Our pitching is back and we’ve done well with the sticks the past couple of years so I am expecting a lot out of this group.”

The Lyndonville lineup includes seniors Anna Lewis (utility), Stacy Buckland (pitcher/infield), Cassidy Boyce (third base), Alecia Hinkson (outfield), Natalie Ostrowski (outfield) and Paige McDonald (outfield) along with junior Megan Krisher (second base), sophomore Chloe Stinson (catcher), freshmen Gracie Johnson (pitcher/first base) and Ella Lewis (utility), eighth grader Lorelei Dillenbeck (pitcher/infield) and juniors Maddie Austin (infield), Morgan Forder (outfield) and Jennalee Riemer (outfield).

Anna Lewis earned first team G-R All-Star and third team Class D All-State honors last spring while Ostrowski, Hinkson, Krisher and Johnson all received G-R Honorable Mention.

The Tigers key graduation loss was first team G-R All-Star catcher Miranda Lembcke.
