US should boost ports and railroads, which would lessen need of Panama Canal

Simple solution: We do not have to invade Panama. The All-American solution is US ports and railroads.
Rail, supplemented by water and truck, can deliver overseas freight without Canal tolls.
This also strengthens USA infrastructure.
