Urbaniks celebrate a diamond title victory
Contributed Photo – The Lyndonville father-son baseball duo of Ed and Ken Urbanik recently helped the Rochester A’s capture the Rochester Men’s Baseball League championship.The A’s defeated the Yellowjacket Bat Company 11-6 in the finals. Ken, who went 3-4 at the plate, set setting the tone early in the game . Batting leadoff, he hit the first pitch for a line drive double to the fence to start a 4 run first inning scoring drive. He ended up with another double and three RBI’s on the day. Ed pitched a shut -out in the semi- finals defeating the Rochester Royals 6-0. He posted an 8-1 record on the mound for the season. The A’s ended the season with an 18-3 record.
