Long time Lyndonville baseball enthusiast Ed Urbanik got the diamond season off to an early start this past weekend when he helped hurl the Orange County, California based Team Victory to the championship in a tournament at Palm Springs, California.

Urbanik pitched the opening game of the tourney hurling Team Victory to an 8-1 win over Dodgertown.

Team Victory ended up tied with Dodgertown and The Beach Boys after the round robin portion of the tourney. Based on runs allowed Team Victory earned the number one seed for the finals.

Team Victory and The Beach Boys squared off in the title contest with Victory winning 10-7 as Urbanik came in to pitch after an injury to the starting pitcher to earn the save allowing no runs.
