United U12 and U14 teams play to ties
The Medina-Lyndonville United U12 Soccer Club battled to a 5-5 tie against the NIagara Pioneer Vipers this week.
Jack Cecchini capitalized on a corner kick for the first goal from Cole Callard. Callard then netted the second on a Viper own goal after another corner.
Callard accounted for the remaining three goals in the second half with one assist from Brady Christiaansen and two unassisted goals.
Brothers, Julian and Carter Woodworth along with Cameron Eick played strong defense but could not overcome three penalty kicks to maintain their lead.
U14
The Medina-Lyndonville United U14 also deadlocked a 2-2 tie against the league leading Alden Avengers.
Roman Heinsler scored a first half goal on an assist from Connor Bell.
In second half action, Cole Seefeldt found the back of the net on an assist from Sam Kingsbury.
Strong support from Wyatt Zelazny and Zaric Boyce tempered a late push from Alden.
